I think that the phrase "losing an account" has (at least) two meanings - one is forgetting the password (and/or username), and the other is having unauthorized access to the account. π€π€―
The default settings should still be easy to use, since I assume that more than 90% of web browser users would not need such fine control (and might even be confused with it). π€―π€

Yep, that's true, I've heard it used in both ways.
Any default settings should be easy to use, I agree. That's why I love Vivaldi, because you can use it with simple, basic settings, or go deep into fine tuning it's multitudinous setting if you're so inclined. πππβ¨π€
