the things we see on routeโฆ it will get wild ๐
Finally I can share with you PART 3 from 11, our adventure to our new home and country.
These 11 parts will be about our move โdrivingโ ourselves to a new COUNTRY ๐ some parts will include some subtle hints, via text or photo ๐ ๐ so pay attention and see if you can guess where we are heading for!
In my #streetart post from last night I wrote already about thisโฆ I had no mobile reception or internet the last 2 days during my travels. So I could not update you sooner. I will explain why in the coming posts and all will be clear what happened in part 5.
Luckily I reached this accommodation today and can write some posts as the Wi-Fi is strong enough to upload photos. In the morning we will travel further ๐๐๐ again though ๐

The Photographs in this post are all taken with my iPhone by me ๐ฑ๐ค and a few by hubbyโฆ when I was driving ๐ we do share each journey/ part, as the trip is toooo long for just one person to drive ๐

As I did in the last 2 parts to know how many kilometres we will drive in total. I take again a photo from the dashboard and will do so every part of the journey.
We start today at : 127.160 km
Our journey start today in PIERREMONT FRANCE ๐ซ๐ท and we will drive further along our route.
๐ I MUST SAY HEREโฆ I HAVE DIVERTED OFF THE ROUTE QUITE A BIT, TO VISIT FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR 2 DAYS.
So keep that in mind if you want to guess where I am headingโฆ I could go the opposite direction again next ๐
Andโฆ. Here we goooooo
After we put our suitcases ๐งณ in the car, I capture one more time some birds eating the seeds next to the door of this cute French accommodation ๐ณ๐ฑ
I jump behind the steering wheel again and hubby will take the first photos along the road until we switch again half way ๐
We are in the countryside, so I am driving my favourite roads again ๐ฅฐ
Passing by some cute small villages.
He tried to capture some chickens in this field next to usโฆ the focus is sadly a bit offโฆ but still a cool capture ๐๐๐
Suddenly we see some pyramid like structures popping up at the horizon. Wow, thatโs interesting ๐ค
We see 2 pyramids clearly nowโฆ maybe we will come closer ๐
Crossing bridges and following road signs ๐ชง ๐
There they are againโฆ ๐ค
Not sure what they are but they look definitely man made structuresโฆ ๐
The roads are starting to get busier now as we come closer to some bigggg cities ๐๏ธ

We are about to cross another country border ๐
There in the distance is the border ๐ง
On the right on this parking ๐
ฟ๏ธ we see the sign.
We entered #BELGIUM ๐ง๐ช
So so far we crossed, IRELAND ๐ฎ๐ช, part of FRANCE ๐ซ๐ท and we are now heading into BELGIUM๐
Just driving ๐๐๐ along and following road signs ๐ชง
The funniest thing we saw a few times in France but almost all the villages in BELGIUM ๐ง๐ช
THE ENTRY SIGNS TO VILLAGES ARE UPSIDE DOWN ๐
Anybody knows why?
We think it could be related to the farmers protestsโฆbut not sure ๐ค
We stopped in a village to eat some sandwiches, where we switched drivers after a little rest ๐๐๐ so now I am taking photos again ๐
I see this cool statue on this roundabout, a bird of prey ๐ฆ
very cool!

โฆ but suddenly we canโt follow Bruxelles anymore ???
The entire road is closed and all cars are forced to go off at the next exit.
So we divert our route a bit ๐ค
We decide to follow Charleroi for a little bit ๐
We pass by some cute city scapes ๐๏ธ
Even a plane will land close by at the airport that is not far from here โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
I capture a few more shots.
We go off route a bit more nowโฆ
As we are driving for a longggg time now and we decide to go into a village for a cup of coffee / some tea โ๏ธ
This roundabout we go around.
Oh the airport is still close by ๐๐โ๏ธ
Back roads connecting villages with each otherโฆ
Beautiful Belgium ๐ง๐ช country side.
A place that looks busier and maybe we find something that is openโฆ to stop at.

Through towns we goโฆ
Around more roundabouts with some industrial artefacts, from times long gone ๐ค
A forestโฆ where are the coffee shops?
A little churchโฆ
Even a gorilla ๐ฆ will come by on our road trip ๐๐คฃ๐

Some awesome castles ๐ฐ we have no time to visit this timeโฆ maybe next time ๐
As we continue to drive further and furtherโฆ we go further on the map ๐บ๏ธ
We reach Vlaams - Brabant
I see something very interesting on this roundabout.

We are driving past the Hoegaarden factory in Hoegaarden ๐ป๐ป๐บ๐บ๐ป๐ป๐บ๐บ
Another angle of this factory.
I found a bar that was open. We parked our car and walked a bit around to stretch our legs for a little while. Itโs 15:30h already and we started driving at 11:00h
After a well needed drink โ๏ธโ๏ธ a coffee and a tea โ๏ธ we hit the road again to drive further ๐๐๐ as we have not reached our destination for today yet.
Out of the same town again, past some interesting architecture. We are still in Belgium here.

I did see in the corner of my eye a mural popping up ๐ I have to capture itโฆ bit by bitโฆ
We see it is a bit faded
But still pretty cool ๐
Some large buildings that capture my attention.

Yes we are still driving this day at 16:50h ๐ณ our days are longgggโฆ
โฆ and guess what, as it wasnโt long enoughโฆ we ended up in a long traffic jam hahaha ๐คฃ
Ah wellโฆ we just continueโฆ ๐
We reach this roundabout with a fighter jet on it.
We think we have seen so many different things todayโฆ we will remember it for a while ๐

What do we chooseโฆ
I can tell you, we still havenโt reach our accommodation from today and we keep driving until it gets dark ๐๐๐ what wasnโt that long anymore.
Finally we reach our destination after we had dinner in a town on route at 21:30h ๐ฅฑ๐ด it was a very longggg day.
We are staying at friends for a few days now. Where we will visit my family too ๐ฅฐ if you know what country I am from (not the one I was born in)โฆ you know where we ended up in ๐๐
After we reach the destination, before we switch off the carโฆ I capture the kmโs again.
So letโs look at how far we have driven in this part.
The meter says : 127.500 km
Means we have driven 340 km along the road๐โฆ
Adding the first total we get : 1,741 km in 4 days ๐
Our route (ish) we took.
I will make soon a complete overview of all the routes together on one map ๐บ๏ธ we drove so far.
