It is actually not a hobby or interest: Music is a deep-seated passion that grips one's identity and enthralls every aspect of my life. I have been keen on the issue of music at very young ages, understanding that it can evoke emotions, tell stories, and bring people together through instruments, concerts, or just listening to one's favorite songs. It has always been, though, a central part of all I am.
One of the things that I might speak about for hours is the diversity and richness of musical genres: classical, rock, hip-hop, and jazz. It is a really big and varied landscape of musical styles available for various tastes and preferences. What I really enjoy, though, is exploring the differentiating characteristics per genre, learning about their histories, and discovering what new artists and songs resonate with my sound. I love that part of music that really transcends cultural boundaries to hold up people from all walks of life, and I want to discuss how different genres of music have evolved and mostly influenced each other over time.
Apart from genres, I could really go on for hours about some of the artists and bands I adore. Music creates strong emotional bonds with the audience, and some of these artists have made great music that beats the deepest corners of my life. I can easily lose myself in a high-octane rock band, a singer-songwriter with poetic lyrics, or even an electronic artist with innovative soundscapes. All there is left is to share my thoughts and feelings about the music that resonates with me.
In addition, I am really interested in the academic study that goes into writing and producing songs. From writing through composition to finally recording, there is a really interesting why an artist engages with music well into the performance. There really is something about the performance of the music that one could talk about for hours, including technical aspects of music production, the collaboration and dynamics of band dynamics, and the ways in which one thinks musical trends and technologies are changing.
Of course, music is a subject that interests me and excites my curiosity: it makes life joyful, inspirational, and personal in many ways. Whether I'm talking about my favorites, grappling with the merits and limitations of different genres, or recounting the magic of live performances, I could probably go on nonstop for hours about music and its infinite possibilities.
