Hi, @elizabethbit, to deal with the eaters of this time. How I always choose what we buy. We don't make hallacas (typical Christmas dish) because there are only 2 of us, maximum 6 during the holidays, so I order the hallacas for that day.(No more than ten).
Salads based on a mixture of lettuce, apple, nuts, serrano ham, olives, etc., a cava to toast. And for dessert a little patchwork mouse or whatever.
From platanitos appetizers or cassava cassava with hummus, eggplant cream or a baked chicken to then cut it into small pieces, some garlic mushrooms, a well-resolved board of cheeses things like that prepared at home, fast and tasty.
A beef or salmon carpaccio can also serve.
I try not to buy excesses, because there are always those who send one, tuppers with a piece of cake, a homemade cream punch, some freshly baked cookies.
How do I control it?
I avoid having anything in the fridge that provokes us. I am very sweet, I love cakes and everything that goes through for this time. So I'm buying little by little and so by the date I already have what I need.
I dread the urge to eat sweet with 4-5 prunes... There I manage to stay away from bread, cakes, sweets, and chocolates... it's not easy because everyone is already in the abandonment at that time, eating full, almost all day 😋😂... hehehe
I use broccoli, zucchini, eggplant, stuffed auyama or cauliflower a lot as a side dish at lunches.
