I'm inviting you to join us in the #ladiesofhive contest round 189 through this link
In this week's edition of the #ladiesofhive contest, I want to share my personal practices in managing myself and my family during the extreme weather conditions.
The extreme climatic conditions in my country are the extreme cold condition and the extreme hot condition.
Through The Extreme Cold Weather
The extreme cold weather conditions come during the last quarter of the year in Nigeria. That is between the months of September and January. That is when we have the harmattan weather. The harmattan weather is usually very cold at night. So, I make provisions for thick blankets and thick clothes to cover ourselves during the night. The thick clothes helps to keep us warm in the night.
Also during such weather we do not stay much outside for too long. Walking in the streets is always done with thick heavy clothes. We do not use accessories such as electric fans and air conditioners in such season.
Through The Extreme Hot Weather
The extreme hot weather is usually dangerous and detrimental to health also. It comes along with heat rashes and chicken pox. Children and infants suffer from the effects of this weather.
In the hot weather, we allow enough air into the rooms. We equally put on light clothes to escape the extreme heat from the sun.
The type of body lotion we apply on our body also varies depending on the weather conditions. We apply cream that help to regulate our body and give us resistance to the effects of the weather on our skin.
