A time to Kill

Hello to all this beautiful community, I hope you are all well and that your days are positive and valuable.
For today's contest I have chosen.
" A Time to Kill."
It is a 1996 film directed by Joel Schumacher and based on the novel of the same name by John Grisham. The film tells the story of Carl Lee Hailey(Samuel L.Jackson), a black man who kills the two white men who raped his daughter, and Jake Brigance(Matthew McConaughey), the young white lawyer who defends him in court. The film takes place in Mississippi, a state specially chosen by the director infamous for racism and incidents of violence toward black people.
The film is a legal movie, it is the trial of a black man who is precisely Carl Lee, who is wounded in his closest affections, has a sudden reaction of rebellion against the system and commits a crime;
But the men he kills are white, which triggers high tensions and a dangerous situation of conflict between the black and white communities already in precarious balance.
An interesting, moving, dramatic film.
I chose this film because I believe that with great artistry Samuel L. Jackson manages to step into the poignant and dramatic role of his character;
Of a tragic hero, who acts out of love for his family, to rebel against the wickedness of white men once and for all. He commits a crime, but he does it to avenge an even greater injustice is he does it with extreme courage and determination.
This is why he immediately arouses empathy in the audience, because he is a father who has suffered a grave injustice but has fought back; he becomes for the collective imagination our hero, willing to do anything to defend his family.
The rape scene is painful; the viewer feels that he is powerless in the face of racism and the desperation of being black;
Oh yes, because the film aims before being a legal movie, essentially on the rape of a black child because in that specific reality it is the black race that the white people want to target.
Fortunately, the message of the film especially in the ending is a message of love for one's neighbor, of solidarity that is learned in the field, of equality among peoples because let's face it, beyond the color of my skin, there is blood inside me.....and it is red just like yours...... just like all of us....
I conclude by saying that what this film left me with is the feeling that it is possible to dispel stereotypes and prejudices, it is possible to understand others, as in the case of Carl's character, who is not only a murderer, but also a loving father, or Jake, who is not only an ambitious lawyer, but also a brave and idealistic man.
If only we use love in watching, understanding without judging, respect for others.
