Hello everyone, greetings!
It's a joy to witness the new year. I'm very optimistic about this year as I believe that great things will be achieved this year.
There is no doubt that we all have things to be grateful for both currently and in the previous year, 2023. I learnt a lot and improved myself in the year 2023.
2023 might have been a not so good year to some because of the political and economic show down in my country but still I claim that it was a good year for me.
It was in 2023 that I got onboard hive after years of time and resource wastage on some web2 platforms. Initially, I didn't have much faith in hive as I assumed it would not be any different from the web2 platforms out there but hive proved me wrong. The immense benefits of hive were quite surprising to me and seemed too good to be true.
After getting myself acquainted with the basics, I found myself not wanting to leave each time I logged in. In fact a colleague nicknamed me hive addict, hehe. The wealth of knowledge available on the block chain is mind blowing plus the communities that help to foster engagements and niches are truly superb. I am grateful for the time, effort and commitments shared.
I am a capable communicator, thanks to my years of standing in front of a black board but writing waa not something I enjoyed doing. My writing followed a formal format required by my job but that narrative changed here on hive. I learnt to write from the heart and write about what I perceived or felt, without fear of being ridiculed or down graded. The hive block chain helped me with a platform to share my writing with the world. I may not be perfect yet...but you better believe that I won't relent until I'm at the peak.
Aside onboaring hive, one other thing I am grateful for is the relationships forged here on this amazing platform. I encountered people from different places and cities, who had genuine interest in me , this warmed my heart. I won't be able to tag the names of these awesome persons here in this article. All I will say is thank you for making 2023 memorable for me. If I had a do-over, I will still choose you guys over and over....love you all.
The relationships I have made here on hive and even offline in 2023, I will always cherish for the rest of my days. It's not easy to be honest and genuine in our world today. I experienced a lot with so called friends on web2 platforms, who turned out to be hypocrites, judgemental and self-righteous. Meeting genuine people on hive was a breath of fresh air and I am still being refreshed.
I am also grateful to qc community and other communities of hive for the prompts, contests, rewards and encouragement shown at regular intervals to it's members and subscribers cheers to you all. Let's make 2024, a more memorable year together.
