Across The Bridge

Across the bridge, Nigeria shall be better. Looking beyond the clouds of doom hanging above us, there are better days. I'm not speaking like a clergy. But I am speaking like a hopeful Nigeria: we shall inhabit our land of nativity with joy.

We will not always find solace in japa. We will not always have to cross the Mediterranean before we see green pastures. We will not always smile whenever an opportunity comes to leave the coast of Nigeria. Those days when we will eat our bread to the fullest and sleep with our eyes closed peacefully are coming.

When we speak this way, fellow countrymen seem to be offended. Yes, they should be! Not when a cup of rice soars towards N300 that you won't expect someone to be offended. Not when double your monthly salary scarcely foot your transportation bill to work! We all deserve to be offended. But must we always accept this rottenness as our lot?

As We Pray

As we keep playing, I believe there's actually a God to whom we are praying. If in reality there is a God, He will surely answer us someday. We should be intentional with our prayers. Nigeria is known to be religious. Let us truly practice what we believe. When the political system keeps deceiving and failing us, let us look up to the God we believe in.
The Muslims are currently observing Ramadan fasting. The Christians just rounded off Lent fasting. I believe that just like me, we all have the love to pray for our dear country. Believe me, God will answer Nigerians’ prayers.

A Change Of Attitude

Maybe we need a change of attitude. Maybe our core values, individually and as a nation should be redefined. We should value what is morally right and hate what is morally wrong. Wealth should be gotten from legal means not from corrupt practices. Transparency should govern our attitude to work and public services. Negative vices should be removed from us. Our principles should be straightened.

The leaders we have today were the youths of yesterday. The leaders tomorrow will be the youths we are raising today. What will be expected when you and I will mount the throne of leadership? What are our values? Are we not waiting in our secret minds for the time we will have opportunities so that we can steal government funds and properties to enrich ourselves? We need to change our attitude to work and our core values.

Our political office holders should rule with the people's welfare in mind. The mentality of amassing wealth indecently should be discouraged. Using the available resources to improve infrastructures should be a priority. We can rebuild from the ruins.

Getting Professional

It is a thing of concern seeing scores of Nigerian youth running after buses on the run; smoking and jesting all kinds of dangerous substances. What have been the benefits, generations after generations of practicing cultism? Why do we the younger generations love killing ourselves?
I believe that getting education will be one of the desired remedies from the present predicament. Our dependence on the government is excessive! Our level of productivity is very low. Let us get up and leave social vices behind. Let us begin to learn sustainable trades.
Nigerians are creative but we lack support from the home front. This should not deter us. Let us push on with whatever we can do to serve ourselves first. Let us not be lazy around wasting precious time. We can make use of every opportunity and improve ourselves. Let's get professional.

Following The Trend

We are the younger generation. The future is in our hands. We have been exposed to several opportunities through internet technology. In this age of web 3, we should not allow ourselves to be limited by government policies. There are many open opportunities all over. The Hive Blockchain is one sure ladder we could climb up to success. Let us follow the trend. Let us navigate our way out of the jungle we find ourselves. Posterity shall do us good.

Across The Bridge

Across the bridge, there is a good and better land. We might not see the possibility now but the transition will surely come. Nigeria is destined for greatness. Nigerians have been highly endowed with great potentials as evident all over the world. Our land is blessed with a bountiful supply of mineral resources. We are only plagued with wrong management due to corrupt mindsets. Let's be hopeful; there shall be sunrise across the bridge.
