THE SOCIETY FORGOT WHY IT IS CALLED CHRISTMAS

Hello good people of hive naija community, it makes sense when we see and imagine things from the same perspective, that's why it's called a community.
Everything that goes on in every Christmas
Now going straight to the first topic of discussion.
is worth it, but then there are some things I think should not be or shouldn't have been in the picture of Christmas celebrations.
This then takes us back to the word Christmas The word Christmas centers on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, which symbolizes the love that God has for us as humans, by coming to die to redeem us from our sinful nature into his light, as a promise of his divine salvation.

I believe there is always a reason behind everything that happens on the earth. So reflecting on the word Christmas and what is actually going on in our time now is not really matching. We know it's a time of Joy which the whole world celebrates in different ways.

Christmas being the season where God became a man to save us is not a time for traditional rites and display, when I was younger I couldn't process why stuffs likeEKPO, masquerades are always displayed during the Christmas season, in fact considering where I grew up, most of the traditional displays were all showcased during the Christmas season, it made me think all of these displays were actually right.

While I was still at calabar, the was series of carnival popularly known as “the calabar carnival” in this carnival I know what is done before the carnival takes place, even my mom don't slack in telling the things that I need to know, there are many sacrifice that are always made in appeasement of their marine god, afterwards the carnival will still be tagged Christmas carnival with the display of many cultural and traditional exhibition.
Still in the name of Christmas.

I know this things have been around for decades, and it will be very difficult to bring it to an end, but in response to the prompt it will make more meaning if this traditional rites and displays are shifted from this season so that people can really understand the reason for Christmas, because as I speak thousands of people are just wallowing in celebration because they grew up to see their forefathers celebrate.
Without much ado my thoughts on Christmas celebrations here in Africa is that the should be a mindset shift, so many people dies because of carelessness trying to do what they don't understand.
