Greetings!
Happy new year to my hive family members. If there's anything to go by in this new year, it's the new year celebration that is ongoing in the every city of the world now. The first day of January of every Gregory calendar year marks the beginning of a calendar year and the new year celebration. In some places, they call it 1-1 which signifies the 1st of January. Thank God for keeping us all alive to see the start of a new gregorian calendar year. Some are dead already, but here we are hale and hearty. So, for this reason we give thanks to God.
As the usual practices in most of the nooks and crannies of the world, the new year celebration always comes with funfair and merriment where people give thanks to God for thus far he has brought them. So, from my own part of the world which is Nigeria, the new year celebration starts from the evening of 31st of December every year till the first of January of every year where a public holiday is being declared to celebrate the new year.
Like I said earlier, my new year celebration started since yesterday the 31st of December, 2024. The celebration started with a cross over service in my local church where we praised and appreciated God for his faithful in the outgone year after which we used prayer to cross over to the next year. The pray offered was for the prosperous new year which was well co-ordinated by the minister in charge of our church. This cross over service started from the 31st of December till the dawn of January 2025. At the crossover service, people were congratulating themselves for seeing the past year through and exactly at 12am of the new year, the shout of "HAPPY NEW YEAR " rented everywhere and afterwards, series of order of services were carried out and at exactly 5am, we all departed for the celebration proper after the benediction.
So, when we got home, we appreciated God and people were calling us in just to greet and wish us happy new and vice versa and with this, we couldn't sleep till we enter into preparing for the celebration. So, as our custom in our home, we used to gather people strictly by invitation to come and celebrate with us the faithfulness of God over the past years and the prosperous new year.
So, we started with the cooking and afterwards, we started recieving the invited guest who were all looking radiant and beautiful as it has been our custom, we didn't wait for everyone of them to assemble before we started serving those that were around. What we did was that as they were coming in, we were serving then the delicious meal being prepared by us. And thank God everyone that came were well taken care of us. They all ate, drank and danced. And they all left happily.
Also, as it was the custom in our neighborhood, where when celebrating any festival or new year celebration like this, the people doing the celebration do serve the neighborhood which is a show of love in the community. So we did by serving those in the neighborhood which they really appreciate without any complaints.
My special new year celebration is a funfilled one and we thank God for seeing us through the last year and we are also hopeful of a better and prosperous 2025.
