Lifestyle of this era

in Hive Naija6 months ago

There's this girl named Emmanuella; she's around 18 to 19 years old. She's the daughter of one of my clients, and her dad often sends her to meet me, either to drop off clothes or to pick up the ones I have worked on. She likes my company, so each time she comes, we crack jokes and laugh.

One day, I noticed that she was holding two phones. One was her usual Tecno Spark, while the other was an iPhone. I don't know much about iPhones, but I know they're expensive, especially the latest ones. The one she was holding was very neat and sparkling.

"See this girl! It seems you just cashed out. You've gotten an iPhone!" I exclaimed, teasing her.

"Shhhhh! Don't announce it now. Not everyone in my house knows about this," she shushed me.

"Hahahahah! Are you trying to tell me you didn't get this legally?" I asked, laughing.

"Heheheheheh! What do you mean by illegally?" she asked.

"It's either you've started doing Yahoo, you're involved in runs, you're now dating a Yahoo boy or you're now stealing. Of course, you can't escape all of these, or do you want to tell me that you bought this phone? From which work?"

"Abeg go! You people can think far," she tried to brush off the topic, but I kept pushing to find out how she got the phone.

"Well, it's my boyfriend that bought it for me," she finally admitted with a girlish pride.

"And the boyfriend must be a Yahoo guy," I teased, causing her to run away, tired of my interrogation.

I didn't judge her because that's the era we're currently in. The world is corrupt, and we can't help it. Things that were considered abominations in the good old days are now normal.

Two days after our conversation, I went to their house to deliver clothes. It was in the morning, and upon arrival, I encountered a heated argument. Emmanuella's dad had just discovered the iPhone and was not taking it lightly. He was shouting and beating her, trying to find out how she got the phone. Emmanuella boldly told him that her boyfriend bought it for her. The man couldn't believe that a boy her daughter is dating could buy such an expensive phone. He had gone online to check the price, which was around 900k, and he assumed his daughter must have stolen the phone.

At that moment, I didn't know whether to intervene or allow him to continue. After pondering for a while, I decided to intervene and asked the father to calm down. I suggested that since Emmanuella said her boyfriend bought it for her, he should try to get the boyfriend's number and talk to him.

"This girl? Do you know how many times I've asked her to give me the boy's number so I can call him, but she refuses? She must have stolen this phone!" the father said angrily with his voice hitting the roof.

At that point, I didn't know what to believe because with the kind of beating Emmanuella was receiving, she should have given her boyfriend's number or maybe she's scared that her dad might take action to arrest the boyfriend. Or perhaps she actually stole the phone or got it through other dirty means.

I just helped to calm the situation. I made sure the dad stopped beating her and suggested he keep the phone until Emmanuella was ready to cooperate and provide more information.

Thanks for reading.

Children of these days lack fear oo. There is a family in my area, they are plenty in their house, they don't have work but they are using iPhone. Even myself that is a salary earner can't afford that phone.

You did well stopping the dad before he kills her... Lol

That's it my dear.
This world has spoiled a lot. This yahoo of a thing has caused a lot. These people don't have regards for home value again.

Exactly.

Lol dem nor dey beat Gen Z o allow them to experience life, who survive go learn lesson, who die in the process go serve as deterrent to others 🤝🏾.

This Gen Z people, God have mercy on them. Amen!
See the way they're ready to d¡E just to have iPhone 🥲

Lmaooo 🤣😂😂🤣... Just leave dem abeg 😂

900k phone? The girl should be interrogated more and more! For the girl not to disclose the boyfriend's number after receiving that kind of beating from her father, something fishy is definitely going on.

#dreemerforlife

Something is fishy. It's obvious and the girl, she deserves more beating 😅.
Thank you for stopping by

Hmmm, see how some of these girls destroy their lives because of IPhone, ọ dịkwa egwu. She's yet to tell the truth about how she got the phone.

They're ready to eat with the devil just to get an iPhone. And the worst thing is that, they don't know the usefulness of the phone apart from taking photos

The part you intervened was made up abi 😂😂😂... Coz I'm sure you allowed her dad to beat her up well small first 😂
Anyway these children are something else, times are changing and it only gets worse #dreemport

Hahahahah!
Now, it seems all the part of the story is real😅.

Anyway these children are something

You need to make me believe you're not within this range because that's what I have in my skull😅.

Thank you dear

Really 😂😂

You're free to believe what you want 😂

It is well.
900k?
Even if I see that money now, I can't use it to buy phone. I guess she should be interrogated more and this time, we love instead of beating cause beating wouldn't solve it.

A whole 900k!
Yahoo boys have spoiled this world for us.
And the funny thing is that, these girls don't know the value of these phones. Their own is to snap and video...and still don't use them to earn in YouTube or tiktok

Very true
Sometimes I wonder why buy expensive phone when it not add any value to your life

God will help us in this generation.
Amen!

Indeed things that were not acceptable back in the day are now acceptable in this new generation.

Who born me to mention boy friend in my father's house even at age 22. My mom will bring out her pestle o 😁😁.

Anyways it's good that you intervened because beating alone is not the solution.

Who born me to mention boy friend in my father's house even at age 22. My mom will bring out her pestle o 😁😁.

Hahahaha!
This is the life we are living now. Girl of 16 will be boasting of being helped by her boyfriend 🥲

It is well o but me I can't and won't tolerate it at that small age.

Hold Esther very strong 😅

You trust na, it is tight grip.

Korect👍

Times have really changed
Even with the beating, she refuse to cooperate 😂 this generation ehn.

Well, I like that you intervened and suggesting her dad seize the phone was a good idea.

I like how dad was strict about it too. If it were some dads, they would allow it and see nothing wrong with it😅.
