The Ripple Effect: How Small Moments Can Have Lasting Impact

in Hive Naija10 months ago

Good evening my fellow hivers. How una dey?? Hope day the go well. I'm so excited to write again on this platform. Like I said this week's prompts make me so happy and I can't just help but write about it.

So today I'll be sharing something unexpected that happened during the holiday that really impacted my life and changed my mind and my perspective about life.

I had to travel back home to spend the holidays with my family back home. Since I lost my mom and returned to school few days after, I haven't seen my people , so I had to return home because I missed them so much.

While traveling back, I like to sit in a place that's so comfortable a little bit because you know na, the public transport will make you still uncomfortable untop your money and I get so uncomfortable when it gets stuffy inside the taxi. I sat in front and paid just waiting for the car to get full with passengers, so we could move.

An elderly woman came and complained of the same issue and said she was not going to feel too comfortable at the back and it eas late already, she had to make it home. Waiting for the next tax was going to take so much time. I no say this year's slogan na no gree for anybody, but this time around I had to gree, we exchanged our space, she moved to the front and I to the back.

source

She thanked me so much , I told her it was right to help our elders and I eas trained that way, so I was doing the right thing to happen.

I rushed home because it was getting late and I had a document I had to get at public office early the next day. So to achieve this, I had to sleep early to wake early. I got to the office on time but to my greatest shock and surprise, there were hundreds of people on a line to get the same document.

I felt frustrated already, there was a long line and it was impossible to get what I needed and I had to get it. Still sitting and waiting patiently, I saw the old lady I met at the park, she remembered me, she walked up to me and greeted me. Still thanking me over and over again, asked why I came to the office.

I explained why I was there and she told me she came to see her son and her son was just the person I had to see. She went in immediately with me and I got everything I wanted to get immediately.

I couldn't help but thank her , she told me I was kind to her, so it's her little way of saying thank you. I was in awe that just a little help rendered could help me when I was frustrated. What I read in books and heard happened to me.

It really impacted my life. That particular event taught me that helping me people could go a long way to bring me huge favour. It may not happen immediately but the blessing for each help we render will surely come.

source

This is not me saying that help should be rendered for the help that will be returned but we should help because it makes us feel good about ourselves. It also gives us a sense of purpose and fulfillment, and it can even boost our self-esteem. Lastly, when we help others, we create a sense of community and connection. We become more invested in the well-being of those around us, and we strengthen the bonds of our society.

Wooow, you reaped what you sawed so fast!! Imagine you insulted that woman at that point... Being good should not be limited to the people we know, just be yourself as it will always speak. That was a good time you shared and it's also a lesson

Traveling a long distance with public transport can be uncomfortable sometimes.

I agree with you, we should try to help people because we want to and it's the right thing to do.

Very inconvenient
You could imagine now

Thank you so much

Hi, sorry about the loss of your mum.

We gatz to amplify this story o. That was a journey you were making, so it's not an easy thing to gree for the mama, at all.
Great virtue you displayed there and see how you round off in your last paragraph that this story is beyond expecting help because you helped someone. That's beautiful, that's godliness.

Thanks for being you and the story too,
an enjoyable life lesson. 👍

Keep it up pls.

Shalom

Thank you dear
