Good evening my fellow hive naijains. I greet una o. It's been long and its my pleasure to be writing on this platform again.
Special thanks to @ hivenaija for these weeks prompts. The topics reminds me of a lot, the sad and fun memories.
Today I'll be sharing with us my child memories , the decisions I took that helped me, the ones I took and regretted, the fun and the rest.
Childhood memories are the special recollections of experiences and moments we have from when we were young. They can be anything ranging from from the smell of grandma's cookies to mummy's food, to the first time we rode a bike, to the way the grass felt under our bare feet on a summer day.
Childhood memories often bring back feelings of remembrance and a sense of innocence and wonder. They remind us of who we once were and the joys of simpler times. Some childhood memories may be more powerful than others, and they can have a lasting impact on our lives too. During childhood we made lots of mistakes too , some we would love to change and we also made decisions that have helped us uptil now.
When I was little I took a lot of risks and unwise decisions, omo eh I was a tough child. I was always helpful at home but one thing wey been be my problem be say I no de ever hear word. When I see the consequences of my actions before I will listen about that particular action.
I remember when my late dad bought a boiling ring newly, he bought it so my mom will be relieved of boiling water for our bath or breakfast during school period. I always wondered how the thing worked, infact once water is boiled I will leave whatsoever I was doing to admire how those bubbles came out once the socket was on.
I was warned several times by my late parents everytime not to go close to the boiling water or neither should I play with anything electrical but within my mind I de tell my self say when you de alone you must put something in that water when its boiling and stir it.
One faithful day, my mom boiled water somewhere in the house and left to do other things, I made sure she was far and then I tiptoed slowly to the place, and the previous night I already prepared the spatula for the stirring of the water 😂😂. I just went straightp and dipped the spatula into the water and oh..... I received the greatest shock of my life. I couldn't help but scream for help.
No need to gist you what happened later trust African mother's. They finished my head with knocking and my back suffered eh, I would love to go on and on about childhood because I almost remember everything that happened during my childhood days.
Some taught me great lessons, some where silly things that if I remember I laugh so hard but there are also things I did or characters I possessed then I would really love to go back in time to change but thank God for growth ☺️.
Another thing I did during childhood was that I lied a lot, I felt that lying was going to save me from a lot. A day I can never forget came to my life and I'm grateful because that particular day changed my life uptil now. My mom warned us about playing at the neighbors house, she said she would love us to play in our environment alone.
But as I said earlier that as a child my ear no hear o. I went to the neighbors house to play and unfortunately for me my mom caught me. I lied about being sent on an errand by my dad, she didn't say anything. And I thought that was all, that she had forgotten about it.
When my dad came back, my mom asked him about it and my dad said he never did that. I was called out that night and I was given the beating of my life. At some point I had to pretend to faint if the beating was going to end 😂. I swore there and then to be truthful because even after lying I was still beaten mercilessly.
I would probably have told the truth at that time and maybe collect my small beating and go my way. That event really changed my life, people around me this present time can really testify that I'm really open and truthful.
