What is a family without love? No matter how angry you get with them, the blood that binds you all will always prevail. Growing up together, you've all cherished a deep love for one another, yet occasionally, this love is challenged by the unfolding events of our daily lives. I'm the second child out of four children—two boys and two girls. Its funny how my brother and I hardly have misunderstandings, and if I try to think back to the time we fought or quarreled, nothing ever comes to mind because we are dudes and we always understand each other.
But the same can't be said about my sisters. It's like my sisters are placed in the family so we can have memories of us having misunderstandings. Before I talk about the misunderstanding that happens between me and my sisters, let me tell you about the misunderstanding that happens between my two sisters.
My sisters share the same room, which means they would have so many things joining them together. Since I am the first male child, my parents leave the duty of settling disputes amongst siblings to me. Almost every day, my sisters will fight because of one thing or another. If it were not cream, it would be a towel, cloth, toothpaste, slippers, and so on. They fight because of so many petty things; sometimes I don't even know how to handle the issue.
Our little sister is actually a case on her own because, since she reached puberty, she feels she's on the same level as everyone else in the house, and she sees my big sister as equal or rival. Sometimes I wonder why I and my brother don't get to have such petty arguments. I might just come home and see my little brother put on my clothes and shoes, and I'll be like, make sure you return them when you're done with them, but my sisters always fight because of this.
My two trouble making sisters
Okay, let me share an interesting story with you. My little sister and I got admission to study at the same university, and she's someone who always gets under my skin. I already told my parents we are different individuals, and we would live separately when we got to school, but they insist we stay in the same place so I can take care of her. A day came when my sister used all her allowance on things I didn't even know, claiming she was a girl and I couldn't understand her needs. After she saw my account balance, she started asking me for funds, and I promised not to give them to her.
She called my dad and told him she had finished her allowance, but I had some spare money, so I refused to help her. My dad called me and asked me to give her the amount she requested. I gave it to her since I could say no to the one who gave us the money in the first place. After that, I refused to come home early the following day. I got home at 10 p.m., and I saw my sister still waiting for me and refusing to eat because I wasn't home yet.
When she saw me, I saw a sign of relief in her eyes, and she said, "Can we eat now? I am hungry." Since then, no matter what she does, I just treat her like the little princess she is.
Remember, at the start of my blog, I said, "What is family without love?" There is no family if there is no love. Even if you fight always, as long as you resolve it and continue living, then another fight is bound to happen in love. Thanks for reading. talk
