A Recap Of The Festive Celebration

It's funny how everyone thinks they are going to have a sweet and relaxing Christmas in a big family. I laugh at myself, thinking I would enjoy a Christmas like this, but I lied. At 6 am on Christmas day, my dad woke us all up because we were to attend the Christmas service at the church. I wasn't ready to wake up, but who am I in front of 001, the Main Fash? I got up and dressed, and we all headed to church. The service lasted one hour, and my siblings and I took a group picture. The first in the year 2024.

After the service was over, we all headed back home to start the preparation of our meal. While the ladies were in the kitchen cooking, I was in the room sleeping until the yam was ready and it was time to pound it. In our home, we hardly allow the females to pound yam, so most of the time, I do it or my dad, but since I started growing muscle, which I never intended to grow, the responsibilities of pounding the yam were moved to me. We prepared pounded yam and egusi soup for Christmas.

The food went well because it was one of our favorites. After eating, I was on the main Fash family group chat on WhatsApp, where my cousins started talking about all of us meeting up because it had been a very long time since we had seen each other. I agreed to it, and the following day was fixed. My cousins came to our residence, but the plan was to meet at our late grandma's house. Most of us left from my parent's house to my grandmother's house while others came to meet us there.

After watching Netflix and having jollof rice with turkey, we set out for the club where loud music was played, and we danced the night away.

We took this group picture while some people were outside and others were looking for one thing or another. It didn't leave the club until it was 11 pm.

We left for my grandma's place, and since it was a two-story duplex, we all went to different rooms to sleep, but Mick and my little brother made sure they slept in the same room I did. I miss my grandma; she would have prepared tea for me before I slept, but I slept without taking any hot tea.

Anyway, this is how I spent my Christmas, and thinking about it right now, I wish we could go back in time to start Christmas again.

Thanks for reading. My name remains Fashatioluwa. Go to the bank and request any amount of money in my name. Till we meet again.

Thanks for the comment

Pounding of yam has to be male work o. I couldn't let my mom pound it the day I saw her doing it for the first time. I had lesser muscles then but bro I forced myself to. The pestle weight was already enough to get me tired but I made sure to assist, later had to be passing it to each other.

You obviously enjoyed your Christmas.

Yeah, back then we pass it around but now I have the muscle, I do it alone and the girls just be waiting for it to be ready so they can dish everyone food and wash it. Kinda cool.

I did enjoy my christmas, thanks for stopping by
