A little photo-story from last year's May photowalk to a local park. I already presented you pics from that session, and promised the day will come to show the leftovers. And with this week's prompt, it did came! Actually -- it is not leftovers, but the best part :)
Hello my dear friends, I am happy to jump again on the next round of 'Show me a photo (of a bird)' contest; week #158 topic was: 'Pair'.
And this is what I have for you: two mating pigeons, and some funky contrasting shadows on the asphalt (which were casted by the bridge grating). In fact, it was shadows that I was triggered with and started to make the clicks, the shadows and this beautiful light...
But very soon I switched from the shadows pattern to the pigeons themselves - when I saw these were not just two pigeons, but the nice pair.
They were captivated by each other, looking in the same direction and at each other, affectionately ruffling feathers to a partner, rolling their eyes...
This is another 'brilliant click' from this set, a nice moment captured. Maybe it would be a better pick up for the contest? I simply could not decide, and considered to escape over-thinking and over-complicating.
Doesnt he looks like a true eagle here? Mighty and threatening and hazardous! lol
'Pair' was a good prompt, inviting to share a lot of pics. I could add to my post a selection of quite different shots, including crows ... or parenting Grebe ducks pair guarding their nest. I just decided not to dilute the single photo set. 😎 Hope to see this prompt in the future again -- as it is really promising!
