Hello Hello Silver Bloggers and indeed all Hivians
We have had a wonderful weekend of good weather and fun adventures... What more could one ask for?
It is summer here, and that usually meant at some point various members of the Royal Family would venture upto Scotland to stay in one of their family pads, Balmoral or Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh.
I remember as a child being at my grandparents' house one summer when they received their annual invitation to the Queens garden party at Holyrood Palace.
Grandpa being a JP, a bigwig in the Scottish Masons and banking industry together with being a big charity fundraiser always received an invitation.
I would on occasion go with my grandma to the posh shops in Edinburgh where she would look for this year's in vogue hat to wear!
So yes summer, gardens and royalty, let's have a look at my variation on this theme that made it a beautiful and sublime Sunday!
Being a glorious weekend of peekaboo sun where it is warm and the sun would poke out from behind clouds and then hide again made it perfect for walking.
And so it was that this morning we met Charles and Camilla.
I did make a ham salad roll to eat at our destination.
Well you never know what food is provided do you?
Funnily enough, a couple walking past us when we were sat on a park bench admiring the view and eating our rolls asked where we bought them!
Cheeky fluffs, "Home made" said I!
Oh they look lovely, you are lucky she is such a good sandwich maker!
"Even cheekier fluffers!" Thought I!
Whenever I take my backpack I know that there is a bag with duck and swan food inside it just incase I walk past the pond 🤣
So when we skirted the pond I of course had to feed the wee swan, this is Sabrina and she lost her mate a couple of months ago. I still think she is mourning as she tends to stay near the island, but she saw me and came beavering over or in her case swanning over and was chowing down hungrily on the food I gave her.
Do you see her wings are ruffled in the I am wary mode ...
The reason? ...
Charles and Camilla!
Yes the wee swan was on her guard because of Charles and Camilla.
You would think it would have been Camilla with her beak that was the terror but no it was Charles!
Come and look see what that couple were doing! ...
Camilla on her throne!
Well I don't know who built it, but here was Camilla on her throne and Charles was busy guarding her.
Yes there was me feeding Sabrina Swan and along comes Charles Coot all squawking and screeching, trying to scare the swan away!
I tell you they are nosey so and so's are Charles and Camilla Coot!
Well I never said which Charles and Camilla we had Sunday brunch with did I 🤣
But bribery was the order of the day.
We could not round off the weekend without a Mr Whippy and a 99 cone!
It was a lovely ice cream but the price has gone up since last summer! Of course it goes up, do prices ever come down?
