Hello Hello Hivians
How has the New Year been treating you?
Up here in this neck of the woods it has been pretty darn good weather really. I think most of the days we have had some sun and not much rain.
I have seen places down in England basically submerged!
I mean would you look at that blue sky?
Gorgeous, when the weather is braw, the UK really is beautiful!
But we are not here to talk about the weather in Scotland, England or even anywhere. Oh no, we are here to talk about 2024 so far and housekeeping!
Physical Housekeeping
Christmas has now come and gone and we got the last of the decorations put away last night.
Something we start late over here. I remember when we lived in America the lights would be up on Black Friday, not here though and it was around the 10th of December before he decorations came up.
It inevitably brought the where the heck are the lights / christmas boxes questions? Together with the Oh I didn't know we still had this from me!
One job tomorrow will be me taking a walk down to the Charity shops and donating some items.
It is only fair as we did buy a wadge of things from them before Christmas.
And here I am pausing this post to check on X formerly known as Twitter 🤦♀
I have become obsessed this week in getting the blooming monetization verification so I can focus on it for spreading the Hive word as that was the whole point of getting that blue checkmark!
Some of you might remember about the saga of the leaking roof in the kitchen.
Finally it was all sorted and the kitchen put back together complete with new ceiling.
Again though it had me looking at pot and pans and utensils, saying we moved here in June 2021 and I have not even used this! More stuff for the charity shops, they are in good condition.
We downsized when moving here in readiness for getting ready to live on a narrowboat. So we do utilise storage rather well.
But I have been on a we have not used in over a year, throw it out, sell it or donate it!
I am not quite finished, but am certainly getting there.
Online Housekeeping
I have been on many platforms over the years, and you always start off with great gusto and follow everyone and everything!
Well I did sort of learn from the past when I joined Hive with respect to following people. There are loads of people I will not interact with as they don't engage back. The Hive Illuminati I call them, so I don't even follow them. They are not interested in what I have to say, so the feeling is mutual. I am a Hivian, I joined Hive so have no interest in Steem or the legacy platform.
The cryptoverse is a fast moving thing, and we need to keep focusing on the future not the past.
I have been pruning who I follow on X though, as I joined in 2010 and many fellow affiliate / internet marketers are no longer active.
Hive Communities
The longer you are somewhere the more you gravitate to certain places. I mean there are lots of wonderful communities which I would love to stay and visit, but just really pop in via a friend's post.
So I have been cutting back on my subscribed communities. Apologies if I unsubscribed from your community.
AS you may know I a mod with Silver Bloggers community and do try to engage there as often as I possibly can.
This morning I was reading Just Another Day In Orchidville - Orchid Update! published by @bdmillergallery in Silver Bloggers. I always look forward to seeing his tips on orchard care and how they are progressing. I have one orchid which I got last year for Mrs T on Feb 14th. The image above is of it about half an hour ago, it is back and has buds and a couple of bonnie wee pink and white flowers.
It did keep those flowers for months, so I wonder what it will look like soon!
That could lead me to talk about the communities I love to visit and have a heap of posts in draft for, such as Hive Garden and Foodies but we are not going down that path.
I do have a journal though and have been sifting through what my online activies will be, suffice to say I have started an online journal!
How cool is that.. we shall see!
It has led me to evaluate :
- what cryptocurrencies I am involved in.
- what games I play
- what platforms I use
- what projects to be involved in!
So TLT Journal 2024 has been birthed and it has led to refocus on what I need to do in 2024!
Have you thought about refocusing or explanding on what you do?
In the meantime have a great new week!
All images are my own or from my X account and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated.
