Festive means reunion and relaxation

Warm Greetings Hiveans !!! Hope the week ahead is moving fast. Last iweek, was a moment of celebration with family and friends. A famous festival called "Onam" is being celebrated with great pomp in our state.

The best part of this festive is schools and colleges remain closed for 10 days and government and private offices for atleast 3 to 4 days. This definitely is a small break. But family reunion.for many of us.

Let me describe what is Onam ? Its a festival to welcome King Mahabali. And its also called the harvest season. Many festivities are organized during the festival, where the young and old are entertained.equally.

This is called pookalam

Pookalam is another highlight by all generation. They collect flowers of different variety with different colours, shapes and size. And all the young and old take the initiative to creative a mind blowing art work with flowers.

As our last week was a 10 day stay in a resort, me and my family members, happened to have unexpected festivity game and a great meal called Sadya. Its a thorough vegetarian food, one can enjoy !

This was the resort where we stayed.

We were asked to assemble by 12.00 noon, in the resort for lunch. On reaching there, we found too many games waiting for us. All the guests from the resort were invited too.

So before lunch, let's start the game, came a voice. Only then did we realise we all were part of the game.

The first one was to place a bindi ( a decorative spot on the forehead) on a lady's picture, which was hung in the mango tree.

Next was musical chair, where the young and old equally participated.

Later, comes , Uriyadi a game in whch a person is blindfolded and given a stick to break a pot above his height filled with turneric water.

Finally, the game concluded with tug of war. One for the men session and other for women sessio .

Last but not the least, we had an enjoyable vegetarian meal called sadya follwed by sweet porridge. That was the last and we bid good bye to each other.

This was the most memorable and enjoyable trip I had. The photos are captured my me and my children for the family album..

Hope you enjoyed my festive journey. Thanks for the time to visit my blog.

Thanks dear. Happy to share with you all.

What a fun time with all the games.

The flowers I initially thought was a tug, how creative and yes a beautiful piece of art it is!

Yes, it was real fun. Just a nice meet up with sone unknown friends who made the day a success and thanks to the resort who took the initiative. The flowers were fresh and too many hands joined to complee them. The task was completed in the early morning hours.

Thankyou so much foe the curation and reblog. It's really a great honour, that my article is worth it.
