It's been more than a month since I wrote a post in Hive but it's about time for me to catch up. In that time I spend sometime in Bogota. I went back to Caracas and had a pretty chaotic month but despite the material mishaps it was also a nice month, full of affection and unforgettable moments. Now, I'm back in Bogota to spend the holidays with my two guys, but I want to capture in my blog some of the moments I'm grateful for during my stay in Caracas in the last weeks.
Being between two cities has been a little more chaotic than I expected. I returned home in mid-November for my mother's birthday. Her 80s which we celebrated with gratitude for life. A couple of days later, the mishaps started at home.
A water pipe in my kitchen was causing a leak that was affecting our downstairs neighbors, so I had to call the plumbers. It was difficult to find the problem and discover which pipe was causing the leak. The plumbing in my building is old, so I ended up replacing the kitchen plumbing to avoid a future problem. In the midst of the chaos of having plumbers, holes in the wall and the kitchen upside down, a new mishap occurred. One of the building's electrical transformers exploded and we lost one phase of power. So the elevators and the hydropneumatic system stopped working. The breakdown lasted almost a week, so with no water and no elevator (I live on the 7th floor) the work was delayed. Fortunately everything was solved and the positive part is that I was at home to deal with all the setbacks and my mother was not alone.
But not everything were setbacks. I took every chance I had to climb the mountain and charge my energy with the breathtaking view of my beloved Avila 😍.
At the beginning of December, I met with two of my cousins who live in Venezuela. We ate hallacas, chicken salad and ham bread in our family dinner, so I enjoyed the flavors of Christmas 😋🎄.
I also shared a lot with my friends those weeks. I miss them a lot when I'm in Bogota. So we got together several times.
And on my birthday, they spoiled me with a delicious dinner of meat fondue and chocolate fondue for dessert with a strawberry Pavlova that was so delicious. It was a great birthday and although I missed my guys that day, my friends made my 54th birthday a very special one.
And of course I took chance to hug Milo a thousand times.
My furry sweetie who I thought was going to ignore me after the weeks of absence, but he didn't.
And even though, I wish I had brought him with me, I know he stayed in good hands with my mom. She and Milo have become best friends and my mother has him even more spoiled, hehe.
Milo hates pictures but my mom caught him unawares last weekend while he was resting on the couch 😻.
So now, I'm back in Bogota. I arrived at the end of last week, and my son arrived over the weekend. I'm very grateful to be with my two guys and although, it will be a different Christmas far from home, we are together.
So here I am ... and if you made it this far, thanks for reading!
