Hello friends and Hivians. It's almost a wrap for the first week of December already. I've been so busy with work the last five weeks or so. At times, it's taken its toll on me physically. Often not, when my day ended, it only took me a few seconds to fall asleep in my bed when I finally get there.
I can't even tell you how many aircraft I have loaded and offloaded in the last month. Yesterday, I did one and was supposed to do another. The other came in to be offloaded, but the aircraft ramp is broken, so it can't be worked until it's fixed. We had the coldiest day of the season so far yesterday. The wind was crazy making it even worse than the actual air temperature. After we completed the work, it took me a while to unthaw. It was the perfect day for my lunch choice though.
I decided to go to a Vietnamese noodle shop and get some of their delicious hot soup in me. I have been here before and let me tell you there not skimpy on portion sizes. For a small restaurant, the ambience is not that bad as well. Nice marble countertop tables and fairly comfortable chairs to sit down at. The service was friendly and accommadating.
I started out with an appetizer. The last time I visited here I got some egg rolls. I decided this time to change it up and try their spring rolls. Oh, what a treat and I wasn't expecting them to be so fullfilling. It included lettuce, fresh cilantro, rice vermicelli, sliced pork, and shrimp all wrapped in a thin softened rice paper. It was served with a sweet tasting peanut dipping sauce. I only ate one as I wanted to save room for the soup. The cost of this was $5.95.
I got the small sized Pho Tai soup which was delicious. The Soup is a Beef (Bo) Rice noodle soup with rare steak well done. It was served with bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapeno slices and a lime. It felt like a never ending bowl, it contained a lot of noodles and had quite a few pieces of steak. I only finished about half of it. It's been really difficult for me to eat a lot with the medication I'm on. The soup set me back at $12.45. I left with to go containers with the soup and the remaining spring roll. I had again for lunch today.
It's good that Friday has arrived. Yes, one more aircraft was worked today. Just an offload that only took us a little over an hour to take care of. The good is the schedule ahead is much less than what it has been. Just in time as Christmas and New Years approach. It will also be nice to spend a little more time on Hive too 😃 The weather this weekend is supposed to heat up near 60° F from being under freezing temperature for over a week. I'm hoping by Sunday the water on the lakes will be ice-free. Well, in case you're wondering why I hope for this it is because I want to go fishing for the last time this year 😃
Tonight I have plans to go to a basketball game with my son. He wants to watch his former high school team play. As for the rest of the weekend, maybe some cleaning around the house and perhaps even go on a date. As I mentioned already, hopefully, on Sunday, I'll be catching some fish.
That is all that I have for you this time. Take care, stay safe and enjoy the weekend. Until next time!
