Cold and Flu season is here in force.
Right now, we are in the middle of cold and flu season.
It has been a little milder here in 2024 so far, but the season is not over yet.
Here at my medical office, we are seeing strep throat, influenza, COVID, and RSV.
Typically, RSV is not a big deal for older children and adults, but this year, it is a bit more intense.
If anything was learned from the pandemic, it was people learned how to distance themselves from others and how to avoid getting ill.
Unfortunately, we recede to our old habits.
How to avoid getting sick
During the winter months, people are indoors together and gather in groups. This is a perfect storm for spreading illness. Tryu and remember these few tips to avoid getting sick.
Don't kiss on the lips. A cheek kiss is better during this time of year.
Shake hands if you must but be sure to use hand sanitizer frequently.
Avoid touching your face as this will transfer the virus from your fingers to your face.
Avoid sick people when possible.
Get a flu shot if you are high risk.
Enjoy your time with friends and family this season; just try not to pass illness around.
Until next time,
