I get the feeling some homeless people live there. I'm surprised they didn't want to clean it up a little, and get those mattresses on the box springs.

No doubt someone lives there, or has been living there. It's common, but uncommon to find them 'home'.
Why is it uncommon to find them there? I'd think if they found a safe, warm place to hide they'd spend a lot of time there?
