Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
A Great Week So Far!
This is somewhat weird. We are almost always behind on work but since Bossman and his family went away on their cruise ship cruise. Well we had two weeks that only consisted of four days and since then we've been able to catch up on work like it's nothing.
Why? We have had less time to catch up on the work?
The Smaller One!
Well I've got two of the sames to do teardowns on this week, actually most of this week will be just me tearing down transmissions it would seem.
I've already done quite a few and I've a whole bunch waiting for me on the morrow!
The first one of the bunch was the relatively smaller and much easier to handle 2X4. It's also the one that sounded like it had a bunch of rocks thrown into the transmission.
Of-course it would never look like that though!
Refreshing My Memory!
Remember how I always use to say things come in in pairs! They really frikking do!
I use to do a lot of these transmissions last year around the middle of the year but since then they've sort of quieted down a little bit. So much actually that I've somewhat forgotten on how to properly tear these apart!
Thanks to muscle memory, otherwise I might have had a few broken teeth!
Is it always such a damned mess?
Well yeah, wait till you see those damned automatics! Those are oil spillers!
Oh I Just Started!
Yeah I felt the same way when I had to teardown the 4X4! But it wasn't all that bad actually. They did us a favour by tearing off the transfer when they removed it from the vehicle!
Oddly enough I don't know why we didn't have to tear down the transfer on this one, I should actually ask Bossman about this. Hmmm might be we slipped up on that!
I swear I feel like a broken transmission after today! I tore down a bunch more. Not just these two hey! Laughs, we really got a surplus of transmissions these past two weeks!
Minor Changes. Major Differences!
There's not much of a change from the 2X4 to the 4X4 except for it having a multi-syncro clutch body on the second and third gears. Besides that it's pretty much the same as the 2X4. Apart from the casings of-course.
Well but why does it look like there's a bunch more parts? Well truth is there is a couple of parts in the bunch that I didn't add in the photo of the 2X4. I mean it had to look like the 4X4 was some punch packing build right!
