I have to say if I ever bought a Mercedes it would certainly be something like this an SUV or something like the hatchbacks that they have. Anything else I wont say I'm much of a fan at all though.
I have to admit I feel the same with most car brands, there are exceptions here and there but still!
SUV is just something fun to drive!
I've got to add that this customer certainly takes good care of his car. We better be at the top of our game here!
For the miles it has this car looks absolutely amazing!!!
Another thing is that it doesn't have one oil leak, well it has one and that is the rear main seal, the reason I didn't see this was because of how well Mercedes designs their engines. It's so tightly sealed there barely got anything out until I started unbolting the bolts of the bellhousing!
That's frikking amazing! To say the least of it!
Start At The Back!
Starting at the back and making my way forward is always the best option in these cases.
I'm still deciding on whether I want to remove the transfer case and then remove the transmission? OR just all in one and have it done with?
I did already have somewhat of an idea when I started on it, it did change though. Wildly!
Always A Problem!
I hate removing these things! BUT this vehicle had it fairly easy on me to say the least. Fairly easy!
The rear one is all loose but it has a big rubber cushion on it that I just cant get out because of the exhaust, so I'll ask Bossman if he wants to inspect the propshafts and then I'll have to remove the exhaust slightly to get enough clearance for the thing to get the hell out of there!
I did manage to get the front one out aswell, that one went fairly easy to say the least! It's the short one.
And She's Out!
Hell yeah! Finally got her out! It was a bit of a struggle to get all of the bellhousing bolts removed but I did manage quite good at the end there! I think I got used to the wangling under the car! I usually have a lift! Laughs!
I ended up removing the entire thing with the transfer case and all that, It had a nice seating on the transmission jack so I went with it, the other reason was that I didn't want to lower the entire engine and transmission connection too far and risk damaging the engine mounts.
So for that reason I would never have gotten the transfer case bolts removed!
But she's out!
