Dungeon Cities has gone live and players are playing. But things are changing very quickly. Players have sent HBD to the game so they can enter dungeons, but there are still some issues.
Yesterday, I would enter the dungeon and enemies never did any damage to my player. I would attack just a few times and bam, the enemy was defeated. I'd get some XP and move on. The only problem was stamina - at level one the player only has 25 stamina which means very limited dungeon crawling.
There are items to recover stamina, but it cost DRUBBLE. These are annoying, but something that can be improved.
The Trouble with DRUBBLE
DRUBBLE is set at 0.05 HIVE each. There was a week-long promo, selling DRUBBLE for 0.01, then it went up to 0.023, eventually going up to it's standard price of 0.05. This is great incentive to buy up DRUBBLE at a discounted rate!
But there has been a massive sell-off of the token. Now it's being sold off at 0.001. Is this good or bad?
Good that I picked up 1000 DRUBBLE for about 1 HIVE, bad that a token meant to be 0.05 had dropped 95.1% in value down to 0.001.
How could there be a sell-off???
DRUBBLE is extremely difficult to get this early in the game. You might find an item here and there, sell it for between 2 - 6 DRUBBLE. But the buy-in just to play the game is much more than that. And it's 28 DRUBBLE for the healing/stamina item!
What gives? How did players get so much DRUBBLE so early in the game? Did they earn it legitimately? Perhaps:
It appears the game is being exploited early by two players: @bengbenggg and @yonyonsson 1-5 Exploited? Or are they just good players?
Will DRUBBLE become RUBBLE?
I don't think so. I think DRUBBLE is a very young token, with no use except within the game - however if the game continues to improve and be promoted, demand for DRUBBLE with increase.
I don't think it'll maintain it's 0.05 goal, but I do think it will remain around 0.01 once it stabilizes.
But if you want to pick up some CHEAP DRUBBLE, now is the time. There are buy orders as low as 0.00081 right now and I wouldn't be surprised if these early players would be willing to dump their DRUBBLE on you for CHEAT.. I mean CHEAP!
Another Shock!
I figured there are some master players out there, why not get at it and start withdrawing DRUBBLE 500 at a time like the cool kids!
I'm still on level one, as it takes about 20 battles to get to level two. I bought all sorts of armor and a weapon and I'm getting close to a level-up!
Crawling around at Level One, on the FIRST DUNGEON, on the FIRST level of the dungeon - I would expect very easy battles, like rats or slimes or whatever.
But then I come across this:
Really? I'm supposed to fight this Rancor, I mean Remorhaz? Thankfully I was able to FLEE, but still. Not a fair fight!
Next battle was fair: except I never actually got damaged while I hit this kobold again and again.
I easily defeat the kobold and collect the "loots".
I get 4 xp and a "Mossy Cap" and "Moss Fragments". Worth about 3 DRUBBLE alltogther.
All good, let's go for a stroll... A DEMON LORD???? AAAAAHHHH!!!!
Ok, that's it. I'm outta here.
The Future of Dungeon Cities?
Personally, I would say it's still early. Weird things like this happens. Sell-offs can be recovered from, quirks can be fixed, communication is key.
I wouldn't give up on this game yet, it was released a bit prematurely and it is still a work-in-progress. Just have to work out the bugs, balance the game and make it fun.
Oh and maybe pick up some DRUBBLE with a 98% discount while we can. :-)

Update to the Update
The game design team has address and acknowledged the issues on the discord server. My favorite:
Good thing the game allows players to FLEE.
There are players who climbed up the ranks very quickly and started gaining DRUBBLE much faster than expected.
I really appreciate the attention to these issues and the resolution is quite brilliant in my opinion: the game will reset and the early lever-uppers will receive a lifetime reward and special title:
Lifetime discounts? Sweet!!! Can I make it to floor 5 before the reset? Maybe that should be my new goal! I need more stamina!
This bodes well for the FUTURE of DUNGEON CITIES!
