I think this book was 100% planned for readers who are avid Dungeons & Dragons players or at least know a lot about it cuz personally, I had never played anything like it, so I found myself googling stuff. I tend to read heavier books (horror, sci-fi, etc.) so this genre is a bit "out of my comfort zone". However, I have to say that it is a breath of fresh air. The plot was fairly obvious from the get-go, but that didn't bother me at all. I feel like this type of book focuses a lot more on the environment and general feeling, which I appreciate.

The characters were wholesome, the plot was hella cute and honestly the ending was super funny. I searched fanart for the characters (which I usually don't do) and it is amazing to see how this book inspired so many people.

Among characters I liked Calamity, I thought he was adorable and I enjoyed the character development between all of them. Also the baker, Thimble, was so sweet! I liked how they all really believed and supported the coffee shop. I'm a bit disappointed in a the romance part, it felt a bit forced and unnecessary? I know a cozy typically includes some romance but I thought the book would have been great if they were all like "party companions". Not every story needs romance and I feel like this story wouldn't be lacking without it. It felt a bit too much, specially when this is such a short book and developing their relationship with each other was not the main focus at all. It would have been the same if they were just really good friends. Actually, for me, it would have make more sense, because Viv built a separate room for Tandri, which is much more "friendship" than "lovers''.

All in all, I think this novel deserves its merit. It's not pretending to be something it isn't, or attempting to achieve or promise a concept totally outside its means. I fully enjoyed the concept, the descriptions, the slow and comfortable pace, the characters, their relationships and the overall premise. On one side, I feel like everything was a little underdeveloped. On the other, how fun would it be to read 400 more pages of these dynamics.
