RE: Living Without Electricity

in #cent2 years ago

A few days without electricity can be rough.

Everytime I've lived without electricity, it humbles me greatly.

When habits are built assuming electricity, it's very disruptive having it go out. The key is building different and better habits that do not rely on modern tech. Our family often wonders if we will be living without electricity, we hear rumors of "rolling blackouts" and "natural gas shortages". If the gas is shut off this winter, we're going to have to get very creative on keeping warm, it gets very cold where we live in the winter time.

We are practicing being grateful for the abundance we enjoy today, because we should not assume we will always have these luxuries. If we complain now when things are comfortable, I can't imagine how we'd do if things became uncomfortable. It takes practice to be content, no matter the circumstances.

Yes, absolutely. Luckily my family are preppers and we've got some contingency plans for situations like this. Today, the electricity is back on so we're getting back to our regular routine. Things are looking up.

That's good to hear!
