Why do they steal the light?

A few days ago I woke up at 5 or so in the morning and there was something that really amazed me. The presence of light outside. Not completely light, but it was slowly starting to lighten up. Maybe it was 5:30.
I hope I wasn't dreaming. I'm not an early riser in general, and there's no way I'll get up that early to see if it's really dawning at that time. But I remember well how until recently, before the change to daylight saving time, even at 7 o'clock it was still pitch black.

So, during the time when there is not much light outside anyway, the day is manually shortened further... by the people themselves.
Do you see any logic in this? Because I don't. It somehow conforms to those controversial to the human brain and perception laws that say: The more, the more. In this case, the less, the less. Money goes to money, he who is poor will remain poor, etc. And many more examples of ascending or descending progressions. But in this case - manually or mechanically created by people.
I don't know, but I feel kind of robbed every winter when it comes to light. It's clear about the cold. It's just climate. But why do they keep stealing the light, I ask.

And when we talk about light, I always think of the westernmost European countries, on the roads of which these photos were taken, where it gets dark late, dawns very early, and it is even debatable whether there is night or not, sometimes.

Just Nature cycles, I think.
I believe it is more a matter of how far North (or South for the other hemisphere) a certain region is and the angle towards the Sun (a.k.a. the seasons) ;)

Sure. I just marvel at the stubbornness of people to refuse to adjust the winter time so that there is more light in the usable part of the day. 🤔

Thank the lazy and unresponsible government for that! :)

Thank you! 🙏 Have an awesome weekend ahead!
