Hello friends and Hivians. I hope you all had a great weekend. Well I am now a year older since I last posted. I've been incredibly busy with one hell of a work schedule. Despite being busy, I have found time to do some things.
Friday was my birthday 🎂 and the day started really early at work as I had to be in at 6:00 a.m. I also had to track an inbound aircraft as I had the work phone this past week. I had to wake up twice during the night. The last time I got up was around 3:00 a.m. and I was up for good. It also included working past my normal duty day as I got off around 7:00 p.m.
I received some birthday wishes throughout the day, which helped and fueled me through the day. I got two birthday cards at work. One was from my unit commander, which had a written personnel message inside. The other was a card created with a simple piece of white paper (the one above). It was from another work center which is located in the same facility I work in. Inside the card was birthday wishes from everyone I work with in the facility. Someone also bought me a pint of my favorite ice cream, Rocky Road 😋
After work I headed over to my friends place, I was welcomed with some longetivity noodles and eggs. There was also some potatoes, carrots and beef to go along with it. I spent about two hours with her before I headed home.Once home my son gave me a card and it wasn't much longer I went to bed.
Saturday looked grim because I was projected to go into work at 2:00 p.m. Upon tracking an inbound aircraft I found out that I didn't have to be into work until later, 10:00 p.m. That was a relief because it opened my day up. I decided to make the best of it.
It decided to make a good hearty breakfast. I made two over easy eggs, two sausage links, a hashbrown and two pieces of toast. Afterwards, I made some cinnamon rolls. Do you want some? You can have any of them except the middle one. That's my favorite and it's mine 😆
Once the food settled I decided to go fishing. The weather was decent as the temperature was around 50° F (10° C) with just a little wind. I kept 5 fish which were all crappies, caught the biggest one of year, which measured just under 16 inches. That big fish turned into dinner the following day. My friend prepared it and fed it to me.
I went into work at 10:00 p.m. and got off around 12:30. I got home and didn't fall asleep until around 2:30. I got up around 8:00 the next morning. I had some quick coffee and decided to go fishing again.
Well the weather was even better than the day before. A few degrees warmer and basically no wind. The water was calm and it appeared to look like glass. Beautiful day and the fish were biting. I don't remember the exact number of fish I kept, but they were all some nice slabs! After fishing, I dropped some off to my friend and then went hope to clean the rest of them for myself.
Once I was done cleaning fish I took a shower. After that I just relaxed, watched some football and took it easy. I actually took an old man nap for about an hour. I hoped to get in bed by 9:00 but didn't until around 10:30.
That was basically my Birthday Friday and weekend. This week will be another busy work week. I won't have a lot of time by myself, but I will still strive to make the best of it. Unfortunately, it looks like I will spend much of my Thanksgiving Holiday at work. I hope the weekend will be free because I really just want to take it easy and relax.
