DISCOVERING MALTA! 🏞 Chapter 1 - La Valletta 🏛

Hello everyone!

Taking advantage of the fact that my vacation is coming to an end, I have decided to reactivate my Hive blog. And there is no better way to do it than by writing a little about my trip to Malta this summer. 🗺

To begin, I will tell you a little about its capital, La Valletta. It is located to the east of the island, and evidently surrounded by sea. As a curiosity, it is the smallest European capital, with an area of 0.8 km2 and a population of approximately 6000 people.

It is a fairly old city with very well preserved and very clean buildings. It is said that the first stone that was laid in Valletta was in the year 1566, and a good part of its buildings are from the 16th century.

Its gastronomy is very rich and varied, you can eat anything. However, whenever I visit a country, I like to eat the typical dishes of the place. In this case, the ones I liked most were the Aljotta and the Lampuki.

🍛Aljotta: Fish soup with tomatoes, garlic, lemon and herbs, to which rice is added to obtain a thicker preparation.

🐠Lampuki: Sea bream is the most precious fish in Malta and the main ingredient of this dish. It can be made in the oven, on the grill or in a puff pastry cake, always accompanied by vegetables.

Valletta is with Sliema, the most touristic city on the island, where there are many restaurants, hotels and a wide range of leisure activities.

Do you like the hotel pool? 🤭

It is a beautiful city, which I recommend visiting without a doubt. ✈️

See you soon!
