Do the ruins have a future?
I don't know about the future, but they certainly have an interesting personal life hidden from the eyes of the common man.
Imagine what happens in an abandoned, dilapidated building, say at night. What kind of persons, individuals, animals and creatures visit it at night, who sleeps here, what they do, when another piece of concrete breaks off and falls into the abyss... all things that the common man is not aware of. Because he is out of place, there is no way he can be there, he is at home at that time, calm and warm, while life is boiling in the ruin, passions are raging, and in the morning there is silence, as if nothing happened, everything is apparent quiet and fine. Until next night.

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
