Today my family observed the "Feast of Trumpets" or the "Day of Alarm" or "Day of Shouting". Literally in scripture, it's called "A memorial of shouting."
Last evening we went outside and I brought the family trumpet with us. The whole family made a loud noise, while I blasted the trumpet at the evening sky.
It's the new-moon of the seventh month (the first of the month), when we have a sabbath (no door-knocking today) and perform a memorial of shouting.
Why are we remembering shouting? I think we're supposed to PRACTICE remembering, before the actual even occurs. Meaning someday, we'll understand why we practice remembering this day as a day of "Teruah" or shouting.
Just as Israel practiced the Passover Lamb sacrifice every year, before the Messiah came and fulfilled the appointed time. Believers are to practice the "teruah" or shouting before the future event occurs, fulfilling the appointed time.
"Happy are the people who know TERUAH, they shall walk oh LORD, in the light of your face." Psalm 89:15
