I got a lot of carrots processed and bagged up to be frozen, but I stopped suddenly after a bit of a miss happening. I sorta-kinda chopped off the tip of my finger. My mouse clicking finger!
I began by slicing all the carrots with a knife, but decided to speed up the process by using a "mandoline", a very useful tool to slice veggies quickly.
It's a safe tool, if used properly. However, I was in a hurry and didn't use the top portion of the tool, which protects the hand. I was slicing up carrots very quickly and when I got to the bottom, I suddenly realized that I sliced the tip of my finger. It didn't hurt... at first. But it did bleed. More than I expected.
My wonderful wife helped bandage up my finger and daddy demonstrated much self-control for his children. Just because it's bloody, it's not terrible. God made bodies to heal.
I took some very graphic photos of my missing fingertip. I'm so grateful that the cut was not deep enough to require a trip to the ER or urgent care. We stopped the bleeding and treated the wound. It'll take a few weeks for it to heal. I'm grateful that I can still "click" and type using this finger.
I might post gory photos of the finger in another post, if I do it'll be my first "NSFW" post, because it's rough to look at for people sensitive to graphic and bloody images.
But sometimes we BLEED content. :-)
