Today was a work day. The mentoring task ended early last week and was ahead of schedule. I logged in to work and my schedule still indicated that I was assigned to mentor a representative who was scheduled to go on maternity leave last Friday. Apparently, the schedule was incorrect. Instead, I was loaned into a group that is typically very busy. What I hoped was a temporary situation spanned the entire day. On a positive note, time flew by as I handled one issue after another.
I requested and was approved, to leave early. A local car rental place agreed to pick me up to sign for a rental while my husband is working out of town in Michigan. My car is still in the shop and has been since April as we battled with car insurance over damages. They agreed on a repair Instead of totaling my car, much to our relief. This saves us at least $5000. The insurance was lowballing us on the car's value so I'd have had to add that much out of savings to purchase a new used car to prevent signing a car note.
After signing for the rental ($500 for a week, which includes a $200 refundable deposit) I treated myself to an ice cream cone at a local parlor. I chose White House ice cream (vanilla ice cream with lots of maraschino cherries mixed in) on a sugar cone for $3.50.
I returned home to watch yesterday's evening church service on YouTube. When my son returned home from helping the neighbor pick up a free hutch from Facebook Market Place, we decided on what to eat for dinner. We drove to Applebee's and I ordered the fried chicken won tons. He ordered a different appetizer with a variety of food; mozzarella sticks, nachos, chicken wings, and chicken quesadillas. We had plenty of food for dinner with the two appetizers.
I'm ending the night watching a 2022 Liam Neeson movie "Honest Theif"
My roommates are settled in for the night. It's been a decent Monday and I am feeling well physically, despite the current challenge. Friday morning I am scheduled for a HIDA gallbladder scan.
