Hello friends and readers. I'm back for a post to let you know that I'm alive and thriving after a very challenging week that culminated yesterday in the emergency room visit with acute stomach pain. I suspected gallbladder. The pain began during meals last weekend in Canada. I didn't sleep at all Friday night. I kept my appointment Saturday to get my nails done and decided to go to the emergency room afterward.
Jeff drove me to the hospital around 1:30 PM or 2:00 PM. Fortunately, the ER was not busy and I was seen almost immediately. They classified my issue as chest pain (despite the fact I specified that I suspected gallbladder). There were four or five nurses in my room setting up an EKG. The results were that my heart was fine. The first girl who attempted to set up an IV line blew my vein, so a nurse took over and smoothly set one up on the other arm. I deduced that the first woman is in training. I was a bit put off by that, but let it go. The doctor ordered over five vials of blood drawn and computed tomography. I was treated via the IV with a couple of stomach medications and a cupful of Mylanta.
The tests showed no gallbladder issues. The doctor diagnosed gastritis and possibly an ulcer then sent me home with a follow-up with a gastrointestinal provider and two scripts. Today I'm feeling better and enjoyed a Father's Day church service, grilling with my husband, son, Jeff's son, and my two grandsons, and an evening walk with Jeff. Just like that, the weekend is over.
I ended the day with a call back from my Dad who was busy today attending a car show with his wife and antique truck.
The photograph is of me and my father on my wedding on July 31, 2021.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. You're important and needed!
Here are my current wallet stats.
My goal is $2500 Hive and 1210 Alice this next week. It's been challenging, but goals are goals.
