I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 5 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Being one of the top most active accounts on the Blockchain, I receive a lot of notifications each day, and I do mean a lot. Of all the various things that I do on Hive each day, getting through and responding to all relevant notifications takes the most time by far. Nothing else even comes close. We're talking several hours devoted to it each and every day. Given that this is the case, an efficient and effective means of doing so is absolutely essential. Things don't always go according to plan, however.
Since I receive notable benefits for using Ecency, that's the frontend that I use to respond to my voluminous notifications. While I love Ecency, it definitely has issues occasionally. I default to using the Ecency website via the Hive Keychain Android app, with the Ecency Android app being my backup. I really wish that the app and the website provided the same user experience, but that's not the case at all. I use the website more because I'm able to do more things easily, like copying and pasting text, searching for and adding GIFs, and being able to see some of the contents of comments and replies before I open them. The app does have an edge in a few things, though, so I do go back and forth.
The recent update to the Ecency website borked and broke all sorts of features, though that is in the process of being fixed fully. Since the website has been a challenge to use, I've been using the Ecency app to get through my notifications for the last week or so, which has mostly worked fine. Last night, however, I noticed, much to my chagrin, that several important comments, replies, and mentions were missed by the notification system, so I realized that I needed a way of checking my notifications that was a whole heck of a lot more thorough.
I tried @sagarkothari88's Hive Inbox via its webapp on the Hive Keychain Android app, which showed me just how many notifications that I had actually missed. While Hive Inbox is an excellent app, there were features, like filtering, and choosing the order that notifications appear, that were not present yet. Because of that, I went back to @arcange's Engage, which presently allows for more fine-tuned tweaking of how notifications appear. Yep, I had missed quite a lot of them. Since Engage is more thorough and consistent with pulling in notifications than Ecency, I'm now going to be using it by default from now on to check all my notifications, opening each one in Ecency to respond to them (different frontends can be chosen as the default to open Hive links in both Hive Inbox and Engage), which gives me the best of both worlds.
I'm very grateful for thorough, efficient, effective, and customizable tools like Engage to process my notifications. That's one of amazing things that I love about the Hive Ecosystem, that there are always multiple ways to get things done. I think that using Engage will speed up my daily round of going through and responding to all my notifications, which is a very good thing indeed, as the faster I can get through them, the more time that I'll have for other activities, both on and off the Blockchain.
I milked Daisy the cow with Lizzie yesterday, after I finished all my Hive tasks, which went smoothly, thankfully. After milking, I returned to the Flow House for a short time more, to do a little more token management, and to write and publish My Entry for Shadow Hunters Community Contest/Show Me a Shadow: Round 340 - Musk Fern Shadows, and once I was finish with that, I went to the Landing to make myself some eggs with tomatoes, onions, sea salt, and cheese, and to strain and blend kefir (kefir-honey-cinnamon-cacao). I took a good batch of photos in the morning for these posts, as well, while the sun ☀ was not hiding behind clouds. The energy here at GaiaYoga Gardens was much calmer and more peaceful yesterday, for which I was super grateful, and which definitely helped my sensitive nervous system. I paused checking my notifications last night to share a fantastic conversation with Zai up at the Flow House, on various elements of the dying slave matrix, how we could best deal with present and future events in relation to it, and also about the recent challenges at GaiaYoga. I stayed up way too late dealing with my missed Hive notifications, finally going to bed around 1:30AM. It's now just before 10:45AM, so an excellent time to end this post, so that I can get to my few important Hive tasks, before leaving the Flow House later in the afternoon, to first take more photos for these posts, and then land work. I deeply appreciate you all so very much! Until my entry in the Reflection Hunters Contest later today, and the next iteration of this post tomorrow! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
