So I just learnt something that really moved me and I would like to air my views on it.
Dwayne Johnson, the wrestler turned actor has spoken up in support of Rebecca Ferguson?
Well, I have some thoughts about that.
First and foremost, let us take a look at Rebecca Ferguson.
She is an awesome actress, whose work I have always been impressed by. When she came forward about being shouted at by one of her co-actors on stage, it hit me very badly.
No one should be treated this way, especially someone as talented and well respected as Rebecca.
Now let’s talk about The Rock. Since forever I’ve been a fan of his. From his wrestling days to his blockbuster movies, he has been my role model.
Therefore, when he tweeted supporting Rebecca, it made me really proud of him actually because it takes courage to oppose something like this particularly in Hollywood where things tend to get messy quite often.
In his tweet, The Rock made it clear that he wasn’t the one who shouted at Rebecca. On the contrary, he praised her for standing up to herself and not allowing such behavior.
This is the type of alliance that we must have more of within the entertainment industry.
So what do I think overall about this whole thing?
First off, I think its great that The Rock used his platform to support Rebecca Ferguson. People in power need to show their opposition toward prejudice and he did just that.
As for Rebecca, hopefully this situation will lead to some much needed changes in Hollywood.
Nobody should be forced into enduring such abuse and it’s good that she is taking a stand.
All in all, I’m glad that I support The Rock and Rebecca Ferguson. Both of them are extremely talented people who speak their thoughts freely.
This is something we need to appreciate in the world where silence is preferred to taking a stand.
