In my quest to look for ways on how to onboard some friends with a free hive account sign up, I was able to discover Hive's Telegram group. (Before I proceed, I'd be thankful if you know ways to sign up for a free account right now. Anyway, I have already helped one sign up yesterday. @leannwithdoublen signed up through Blocktrades. Hopefully, she had already started reading the links I've sent her and is now composing her intro blog.)
Going back to my Telegram story, I clicked the join button on Hive's group and in just a few minutes, I was privately messaged by allegedly a Hive admin/representative/moderator, whatever you call it.

At first, I was surprised and glad that someone noticed me and was eager to help, but then I saw that the issue I am looking for a solution isn't on the choices he had given so I told him, "None for me so far," and proceeded to tell my concern. However, I only got an "Ok".
I thought Admin-san would assist me with any issues on Hive?
And I'm looking on how to create an account for free. Why ask me for a wallet? Lmao? So I replied, "I'm not sure. I haven't asked them." Sometimes ignorance can save you. Lol. I don't really know if they have one, I'm just being honest here.
That was my last reply because I already have a strong feeling I am talking to scammer. Then in the next few minutes, Admin-san the scammer, didn't stop sending me messages.

Admin-san wants me to invest on something else outside Hive even giving me the phrase of the account for me to check. And Admin-san wants the investment to be transferred on that account. Big red flag! Lol. And poor scammer because I don't have that much money to spare for investing especially to someone who just randomly messaged me. And scammer-san kept calling me. He/She didn't know I don't like phone calls. Well, guess who got scammed instead? 😂
I went back to Hive's Telegram group and searched for the name "Admin" and found conversations talking about scammers messaging you privately out of nowhere.
Bingo!
Dear Admin-san probably saw my name when I joined the group and thought I would fall victim to their little show. Maybe I should've played along and asked if how much I would get in return if I invest a million dollars. Scammer-san's eyes would probably roll with a dollar sign like a slot machine.

Anyway, the scammer probably thought that I have already found out their motives but they wouldn't just give up.

Another "moderator" sent me a message asking if I have any issues and even asking me about a free bonus. Mod-san was now trying to bait me with something free because I was looking for a free account on the previous conversation. I would've replied if they said free account instead! Just kidding! I'm not playing with them anymore.
These scammers are trying to make like anyone who joins the group have issues. And they should do better playing Admin and Mod, they can't even give solutions nor explain about account creation. Oh, I don't know if it's only one person behind these accounts or are they a group. And they probably have taken note of my concern and might use it on new members next time, so be careful. Don't fall victim to these accounts with Hive logos randomly messaging you. As far as I know, Hive doesn't have "official" Admins and Mods. What I mean is that, yes, there are admins and mods but they're just like you, me, and everyone else. Hive is community-driven. Regardless of whoever you are, if you have the guts and knowledge, then you can take the role.
