Hi, Alivers!

ATTENTION, I HAVE CHANGED THE CONDITIONS!

Today is the happy 20th week of my initiative.

This love is coming back in larger and larger amounts each week. And since today is the 20th week, I want to give away a little more than usual this week. That's why it's +2 today. I dream of when it will be +100, to be honest!

I want to talk about empathy today. I very often stop when I feel like someone needs help. In fact, I don't see how it could be any other way. Sometimes it gets sad when I can't do anything to help. Only to listen. Even though that can be enough or exactly what is needed... But the truth is, it's not enough for ME.

Such is the case with this giveaway.

I want to get involved in helping everyone. Realizing that it's not possible can drive you crazy at times. This is our reality, but I will always look for options and go against the tide at times. Until the tide follows me. And it will! Sooner or later.

It doesn't matter how much effort or time it takes. Let it be my own mission.

What is empathy to you? Have you thought about this feeling at all? Perhaps there's a story about it?

This, as always, is very important to me. So this is the question and condition of today!

I will, as always, end my thoughts at the end of this post. Now to business!

Goal

As I wrote in the first post Giveaway of Gratitude. 5 HSBI. CLOSED!, I give every day and want to take it to Hive! The purpose of this next giveaway is to give back to Hive and its members my share of appreciation and love! This is a gratuitous giveaway. That is, if the payout for this post is 5.01 Hive, I will give away 6 HSBI! The only thing I get is your love and part of the Hive SBI (that's how HSBI works).

What is HSBI

HSBI is a social experiment that has grown into something bigger. I have read many posts and other information about it. In my opinion, it is worthy of both Hive and this world in general! If you don't already know what HSBI (Hive SBI) is, read this post: Hive SBI

Why am I leaning specifically toward HSBI? Because this value that I give away also stays at Hive. It also shows my love for this blockchain and everyone involved!

Conclusion

Lately I've been seeing more empathy in animals than in humans.

Are we at the stage of evolution where it matters less than it does for other species?

I think this question is worth a separate post, thought, and time.

I suggest we just think about it at our leisure...

Thank you so much for the HSBI.

Empathy to me is really to go understand the situation. Many a times, due to busy schedule or just because how much we don't know about the person, we overlook empathy and thought something might be good for them in our own eyes but in fact actually is not.

I had an encounter back then on trying to help someone with my own judgement without understanding the person which ended up, causing more hurt to the person than actually helping. I helped by telling many people of the situation of the person in order to get more help to him but actually he preferred it private as it is something he didn't want too many people to know. So by broadcasting, i caused more harm than good.

Yes, I made that mistake for a while many times. It's really hard sometimes to get a feel for a situation or a person if you're not attentive enough.

Thanks boss for your kind gesture and HSBI.

Empathy means a lot. Its more a feeling than a word. Having a sincere compassion for others and actually, doing somethings no matter what it is, to bring a succour to that situation. People are really suffering but some are worst. Do things to help them sincerely, not wait for them to ask for it.

At my shop yesterday, a young man came around, asking for bread. Normally, my tribe, Igbo, we are not known for alms begging. Its a taboo but the current situation in my country have change the narrative. No hope of getting money and food are costly and scares too. I bought bread for him and my friend bought drinks for him. This is our condition and we will live by it till the changes comes. We are hopeful, Alive and thriving.

As to empathy and helping others it's at the core of what I am trying to do on Hive, the things to watch is to not get overworked by it and to also make it win-win as to not forget yourself too, or there will not be anything to give, HSBI is a good example of a win-win.

As for the thematic proposal to dissertation this week associated or immersed with "Empathy", I consider that it is an ability of recognition in the otherness, towards the other. It carries with it emotionality and perceptions, which are always positive in nature and essence. In particular, I have experienced empathy almost immediately with some people, it is indescribable how the process occurs, I experience a feeling of pleasure, well-being, sympathy, affinity. In others it has happened to me that the first contacts are distant, neutral or even negative; and then with frequency, constancy empathy begins to emerge.

Hey Alexandr. I’ve not been active much on Hive and missed quite a few of your posts, but it’s always great to read from you.

In this fast paced world empathy seems to be a forgotten trait. The past couple of weeks I have been wondering where did it go and why so little people know the meaning of it. My new boss is a prime example with the way he treats my colleagues.

Reading your post a penny dropped. It’s because we seldom apply it to ourselves and what better person to re-learn empathy on? We don’t need to guess how we feel, we know. Yet so often we deny ourselves even simple acknowledgment of those feelings, as some are labeled as ‘wrong’ or inappropriate. Yet all feelings are valid and have to be felt in order to process the events that made us feel them.

How are we to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes, if we deny the existence of our own? So what? Are we all walking barefoot? Well, that would be good, cause at least we would reconnect with mother Earth 😁

Aww 🥰 You’re so kind Aleksandr. That deep sense comes with deep low times, as you see where is this world heading.
I will be writing more at some point, I’m sure, but my work is making me so mentally exhausted that when I get home I want zero mental activities. Just play a game or watch something.
Last Friday I was so excited for the adventure with my friend, that writing somehow flew again, then back to reality on Monday and I’m back to writing limbo 🙈
Hopefully will have more energy when weather gets better, who knows?
