What is a cause, and what is consequence?
Lately I've been seeing tons of information served up with a sauce of consequence rather than cause. Or vice versa. Naturally, this is done for the benefit of the person giving this information or the one who paid for it. All this in beautiful graphs, pictures and a lot of blah, blah, blah...
I myself have fallen for this line more than once, and I will fall for it more than once. Methods and approaches are constantly changing and getting better. It's getting harder and harder for the average person to get to the bottom of it. It's easier to turn on Netflix or read a travel blog with beautiful pictures. But there's no guarantee that there won't also be hidden advertising, propaganda, or meaning so diligently presented to us under the innocent pretense that it is.
It's important that you believe it's your choice.
So is my choice a consequence or a cause?
When I caught myself singing along to a popular music hit that I hate, I suspected something was wrong. Why am I doing something I don't like? Obviously, it's a consequence of hearing the tune 100 times out of every crevice from the outside. Even if it is bleeding from my ears. Hardly the cause of my prejudice against the performer, the words or the melody...
And anyway, is there anything in this world that I have chosen for myself?
Do I really like coffee more than tea, or is it just a stereotype of quick energy recovery?
In fact, there are hundreds of these questions in my head every day. From some are born my self-reflection posts. It doesn't bring any tangible benefits every second, but it's very helpful for future decisions. Perhaps it will even eliminate some mistakes.
Material benefits. Money. That's why we're all here, one way or another.
Here again, it's a little more complicated than that. Our attention was indeed drawn to paying for every sneeze at Hive. But is that a good enough reason? Or is it a consequence of aroused interest in a whole new approach to social media? I don't rule out that sometimes, as in this case, all the factors come together and synergy works.
It is more important to understand the reason why I am here so far.
Then, perhaps, the consequence will be roughly the result that I am striving for.
The right question is half the answer.
It's strange to assume that newbies stay here for 5 - 10 cents a post, unless they're from countries where the dollar is going up all year and every day. In other cases, it's a good time to ask yourself some questions. There may be more questions, though, because Hive is huge. Most questions will find their answer instantly.
Probably the main questions will be:
What can I learn here?
What is my ultimate goal outside of Hive?
It's strange, isn't it? No tangible benefits or thoughts about what I can give to Hive.
I think Hive itself can take or give whatever it needs. This organism is already so mature that even individual communities are already self-sufficient. It will get even bigger and better from here on out. Hive will definitely take care of both the good and the bad sides of its development. This is already happening.
But the question of the ultimate goal of one's journey or one's own development during it becomes quite pressing. Without learning anything here, I'm not likely to have anything to offer. Whether it's Hive, another social network, or life. So every newbie goes through this chain of thought, even if sometimes intuitively. That's how 5 cents turns into 50 cents and so on. And it doesn't matter what the initial level is. All that matters is the speed of understanding and answering these questions...
My path was exactly that. Looking back, I realize that my level and understanding was below average. I was asking myself the wrong questions and as a consequence, progressed very slowly. Self-development was conducted and evaluated based on the upvotes I received, which slowed my progress. I was asking myself the wrong questions over and over again. Until I realized that I was here to learn how to think, write and understand cryptocurrency. That's enough, as a finished post is more satisfying than upvotes coming in. A sincere comment is more important than a dry "great" under the post.
I've stopped following upvotes. I read the comments carefully and try to give my best under any post.
You can think endlessly about the million dollars that will solve all problems. But if there is no end goal, a million will only add to the problems. A million is a consequence of being ready for it, not the cause of the end goal. Hive is a tool that will lead if there is an end goal. But not a reason to stick around for a million or recognition...
These are just my next thoughts. Perhaps this will give birth to the truth in the end. If it creates a discussion as a consequence...
Or as a cause?
