Donner Lake Photo Adventure - Sunset Spiral

Join me on a photo adventure to Donner Lake in Truckee, California. I find an interesting spiral rock formation and shoot it at sunset. Location, composition, camera gear, techniques, and warm clothing are discussed. A couple of "keeper" photos are shared in the video.

Haha I saw the spiral before you 🙂 the wide beaches with the low water are crazy. Lots of people out and about... Such a commitment to the art. I would have been home with a warm beverage before you finished shooting lol vapor trail grrrrr haha

Ha! Yup, it was cold and I was questioning my decision to be out there. But for some reason, I love torturing myself like that...
We finally got some real snow last night!!! I might go for a walk out there again today. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

What a beautifull place that is! I can see why you've been eye balling it for some time!

It's very clear you know what you're doing but I would have left much earlier in fear of the sun setting too fast🤣 but then again I'd have to ponder about what I want and from what angles I'd want it 🤔 a noob at its best!

Although I'm just taking photos on a phone... I borrowed a camera from someone for quite a long time but I think it's time to get my own now though!

You should make more videos, you have a way of pulling the audience or at the very least you captured my attention very very quickly! Nicely done!

Glad you liked that video, and yes, I hope to make more soon! They are a lot of extra work, but fun.
It can be a bit scary staying out that late by myself, but so far, no bears or Sasquatch..

Be sure to grab a photo of the Sasquatch while running away 🤣🤣 and dump the camera if you get caught! But try and get some good photos! It's about time we get some solid evidence!!🤣

@scottshots Hello, the place is very pretty. I got a better look at how you used your filter on your camera. Following the link you sent me to find out more about the filter you are using, I am thinking of buying one for next September, it's a big budget. But the results of the photos are so beautiful that it's worth having one.

There are less expensive graduated neutral density filters available. But Lee makes a great one, it makes a difference it you print your images up big. Glad you liked that!

You knew how to take advantage of this spiral very well, the photo has been impressive with the colors of the sunset in the background, the truth is that the lake transmits a lot of peace, it provokes to spend a good time there, as much as to make such a perfect spiral ✌️
