Hello!

In 2013 the creator of the libertarian marketplace Silk Road was judged and imprisoned with several charges. In this marketplace people were able to trade anything anonymously using Bitcoin. Lots of products and services were traded there, but the most popular were drugs. This caused the FBI to start the investigation and finally capture Ross. He was sentenced to double life plus 40 years without the possibility of parole.

But...

He was granted a full pardon by President Trump on 1/21/2025. Finally he is free again, he deserved a second chance. His mother and a lot of volunteers pushed for this to happen. It's nice to see the smile on his face after he was out of jail.

I would love to see him involved in Bitcoin again. The Bitcoin community has made a lot of donations to his cause. I would also love to see him on the Joe Rogan podcast, I would listen the full conversation even if it takes 3 or 4 hours.

I like that Donald Trump keeps his word. He is signing a lot of executive orders and pardons that he already anticipated. This means that he is probably make a Bitocin Strategic reserve (SBR) too right? right? At least it makes it more probable.

Another thing that I like is that their sons are tweeting constantly about Bitcoin and crypto. This means that it's even more probable that we will finally get the SBR!

This is complicated to me because the libertarian view is that people should be allowed to do whatever they want (such as having a market to buy and sell anything between willing participants) as long as they don't intentionally harm others.

But the government alleged he tried to intentionally harm others with contracts to kill so it's difficult to know if he should be free or not. The government didn't try to prove that maybe because they didn't have enough proof or they had enough other crimes to easily convict him

Yep, I agree. We don't know for sure if Ross paid other people to commit murder or not. This is a red line, but the trial and investigation was so corrupt that we will never know the truth.

It's nice to see him get a second chance, but I hope he's learned and I know he's going to be monitored by the FBI. I understand that people want a place to buy exclusive things, but then sometimes marketplace like these can be used for the wrong reasons.
