Breve descripción de la cotidianidad en la cuarentena personal.

Monday is already ending, it is the beginning of the work week, but in my case it has been a quiet day, I have been at home, tomorrow I have to go out to do some tasks outside the home, I hope everything goes well. My #life is usually calm, at least I try to make it so most of the time. In personal matters, I have little to report, my brother continues to feel bad, but he is handling things as best he can, with patience.
I read in the news that in an area relatively close to my house there was a fire in an electrical substation and there has been a service failure, it seems that the fire was already under control, but the damage to the equipment is worrisome, since there are no materials for repairs, that can lead to a part of the city being without supply for a while. Considering how we are in terms of supplies and budget management in Venezuela, I can only pray for these people and wish them luck.

Ya está terminando el día lunes, es el inicio de la semana laboral, pero en mi caso ha sido un día tranquilo, he estado en casa, mañana es que debo salir a hacer algunas tareas fuera de casa, espero que todo salga bien. Mi #vida suele ser calmada, al menos trato de que lo sea la mayor parte del tiempo. En las cosas personales, tengo poco que reportar, mi hermano sigue sintiéndose mal, pero está llevando las cosas lo mejor que puede, con paciencia.
Leí en noticias que en una zona relativamente cercana a mi casa hubo un incendio en una subestación eléctrica y se ha producido una falla en el servicio, parece que ya el incendio estaba controlado, pero los daños en los equipos es preocupante, pues no hay materiales para reparaciones, eso puede llevar a que por un tiempo una parte de la ciudad esté con fallas de suministro. Considerando como estamos en cuanto a suministros y manejo de presupuesto en #Venezuela, solamente puedo rezar por esa gente y desearle que tengan suerte.

Let's move on to things that have to do with the ephemeris of #History for today, it happens that I saw several that were interesting, but I chose one that awakened memories and resonated a bit with my nostalgia. Today is World Science and Technology Day, also designated according to the calendar as World Scientific Researcher Day. It is a date established by #Unesco, as part of the United Nations Organization, #UN, with a view to exalting the people who make scientific and research activity their reason for life, dedicating their effort to advance the knowledge of mankind.
#Science, as a field of #research, is inexhaustible, actually constant research is a fundamental part of the definition of science that I know, because it is about generating #knowledge, verifying knowledge and seeking new applications to existing knowledge, of This activity nourishes both pure and applied sciences, which leads us to make this day of value to doctors, engineers, mathematicians, astronomers and anyone who is dedicated in any way to scientific research.

Pasemos mejor a cosas que tienen que ver con la efemérides de la #Historia para el día de hoy, sucede que vi varias que eran interesantes, pero elegí una que me despertó recuerdos y resonó un poco con mi nostalgia. Hoy es el Día Mundial de la Ciencia y la Tecnología, también designado según el calendario como Día Mundial del Investigador Científico. Es una fecha instaurada por la #Unesco, como parte de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, #ONU, con miras a enaltecer a las personas que hacen de la actividad científica y de investigación su razón de vida, dedicando su esfuerzo para hacer avanzar el conocimiento de la humanidad.
La #Ciencia, como campo de investigación, es inagotable, en realidad la investigación constante es parte fundamental de la definición de ciencia que conozco, pues se trata de generar conocimiento, de verificar conocimientos y de buscar aplicaciones nuevas a los conocimientos ya existentes, de esta actividad se nutren tanto las ciencias puras como las aplicadas, con lo que nos lleva a que este día sea de valor para desde los médicos, ingenieros, matemáticos, astrónomos y cualquier persona que se dedique de alguna manera a la investigación científica.

Personally, I felt identified with the date, because it's actually the #job I've enjoyed the most since I started working at the #University. During my years as a student, I worked in various departments and different occupations at the same University, I worked in the university dining room, in the warehouse area of the University Theater, in offices of the cultural department, and other minor things. But, in my last year as an undergraduate student, I started working in a Research Unit where my academic tutor worked, who in turn was working with his academic tutor on his doctoral studies.
It can be said that I was working with my teacher's teacher... but that would complicate the #academic genealogy a bit, anyway, the thing is that I continued working in that research unit after graduating, there were a few years in which I worked outside from the University, but later I went back to work with the Unit until, after several years of work, the opportunity arose that they needed a professor at a University School and I had the professional profile they needed, in addition to being by hand, and it was an emergency hire because the previous professor had died.

En lo personal, yo me sentí identificado con la fecha, porque en realidad es el #trabajo que más disfruté desde que entré a trabajar en la #Universidad. Durante mis años como estudiante, trabajé en varias dependencias y distintas ocupaciones en la misma Universidad, trabajé en el comedor universitario, en el área de almacén del Teatro universitario, en oficinas de la dirección de cultura, y otras cosas menores. Pero, en mi último año como estudiante de pregrado, comencé a trabajar en una Unidad de Investigación en la que trabajaba mi tutor académico, que a su vez estaba trabajando con su tutora académica de sus estudios doctorales.
Se puede decir que yo estaba trabajando con la maestra de mi maestro… pero eso complicaría la genealogía académica un poco, en fin, que la cosa es que en esa unidad de investigación seguí trabajando luego de graduarme, hubo unos pocos años en que trabajé fuera de la Universidad, pero volví luego a trabajar con la Unidad hasta que, luego de varios años de trabajo, se dio la ocasión de que necesitaban un profesor en una Escuela de la Universidad y yo tenía el perfil profesional que necesitaban, además de que estaba a mano y era una contratación de emergencia porque el anterior profesor había muerto.

Even when I worked as a #professor, I continued to participate in the Research Unit, and we worked on several research projects, although I admit that after 2017 our level of activity was a bit low, and in recent years, I have drifted so far that I almost lost contact with all other members of the research unit. I think my isolation since the beginning of the quarantine has not been good in that regard.
I really want to go back and see how old friends and colleagues are doing, I think I have to, really. Well, let's leave this publication for today, wishing you that you are well and that we can read each other again another time.

Aun cuando yo trabajaba como profesor, seguí participando en la Unidad de Investigación y trabajamos en varios proyectos de investigación, aunque admito que luego del 2017 nuestro nivel de actividad estaba un poco bajo, y en los últimos años, me he alejado tanto que casi perdí contacto con todos los demás integrantes de la unidad de investigación. Creo que mi aislamiento desde el inicio de la cuarentena no ha sido buen en ese aspecto.
Me dan muchas ganas de regresar y ver como están los viejos amigos y colegas, creo que debo hacerlo, en verdad. Bien, dejemos esta publicación por hoy, deseándote que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
