Today is the first Tuesday of the month of May, the second business day of the first week of the month. Despite the date, I've been home and had a quiet day, you know, I don't usually leave the house unless it's necessary, I'm completely an 'indoors person', plus the cost of transportation is insane in these times, it amazes me to think that a university professor's salary may barely be enough to pay the monthly cost of transportation from home to the University. This situation makes it crazy to work away from home, but if one decides to work remotely, with the cell phone or using the computer, then you face the problem of the cost of data and rent monthly also exceed what is legally received as a teacher's salary.
Anyway, things in my current Venezuela are so crazy, despite that, I lead my #life as calmly as I can, focusing on staying afloat and surviving one day at a time. In this context, today we have also had several jumps and failures in the electrical service, but today at least the power has not gone out for hours, as it usually happens every day of the week, since the electricity works with some stability is a reason for joy.

Anyway, things in my current Venezuela are so crazy, despite that, I lead my #life as calmly as I can, focusing on staying afloat and surviving one day at a time. Hoy es el primer martes del mes de mayo, el segundo día laboral de la primera semana del mes. A pesar de la fecha, yo he estado en casa y he tenido un día tranquilo, ya sabes, no suelo salir de casa si no es necesario, soy completamente una ‘persona de interiores’, además de que el costo del transporte es una locura en estos tiempos, me asombra pensar que el salario de un profesor universitario puede que apenas alcance para pagar el costo mensual del transporte desde casa a la Universidad. Esta situación hace que sea algo loco el trabajar lejos de casa, pero es que si uno se decide a trabajar en forma remota, con el celular o usando la computadora, entonces se enfrenta al problema de que el costo de los datos y de la renta mensual también superan lo que se percibe legalmente como salario de un profesor.
En fin, que las cosas en mi #Venezuela actual están así de locas, a pesar de eso, llevo mi #vida con la mayor calma que puedo, enfocándome en mantenerme a flote y sobrevivir un día a la vez. En este contexto, hoy hemos tenido también varios saltos y fallas en el servicio eléctrico, pero hoy por lo menos no se ha ido la luz por horas, tal como suele pasar todos los días de la semana, ya eso de que funcione la electricidad con algo de estabilidad es un motivo de alegría.

En fin, que las cosas en mi #Venezuela actual están así de locas, a pesar de eso, llevo mi #vida con la mayor calma que puedo, enfocándome en mantenerme a flote y sobrevivir un día a la vez. Well, let's leave personal life matters aside and talk a little about the anniversary of the story that I chose for today, according to the list of events, today is Brothers and Sisters Day... But, it turns out that when I look for the reason or the history of the date, I find that there is no unified date for this celebration, even its theme regarding the origin is something that has a diversity of sources. Anyway, I am usually guided by the list that a Mexican friend publishes every day, but really, today I am not sure if it is an error or if it is really the correct date, it may be that it is a national celebration and not an international one, that would explain why I had a hard time finding its description.

Bien, mejor dejemos de lado los asuntos de la vida personal y comentemos un poco sobre la efemérides de la historia que escogí para hoy, según el listado de efemérides, hoy el Día de los Hermanos y Hermanas… Pero, resulta que cuando busco el motivo o la historia de la fecha, me encuentro con que no hay una fecha unificada para esta celebración, incluso su tema con respecto al origen es algo que tiene diversidad de fuentes. En fin, que me suelo guiar por el listado que una amiga mexicana publica cada día en #Twitter, pero de verdad que hoy no estoy seguro acerca de si se trata de un error o de verdad es la fecha correcta, puede que se trate de que es una celebración nacional y no una internacional, eso explicaría el porqué me costó trabajo hallar su descripción.

Personally, leaving aside the issue about whether it is the correct date or not, a day dedicated to exalting the #brotherly relationship, I like it, personally, I have about 8 #brothers and #sisters, from four marriages that have had my father and my mother, I am part of the first group of children, and my closest ones are a brother and a sister, my relationship with the rest of the brothers, from the other marriages, is not so close, in fact that is something that It doesn't look very good when you consider it as a whole.
My relationship with my close #brother and #sister is quite close, we grew up together most of our lives and have kept in touch through adulthood up to the present. It's something I like, I don't really get the idea that brothers and sisters should treat each other badly or compete ruthlessly with each other, I guess we were lucky to be raised with the idea that we collaborate with each other and try to take care of each other.
#Brotherhood is a bond by blood, but it's much better when upbringing strengthens the bond and helps a good friendship develop as well, that's something I really appreciate. Anyway, I think I have said what I wanted to communicate, so I better close the publication, wishing you that you are well and that we can read each other again another time.

En lo personal, dejando de lado el tema acerca de si es la fecha correcta o no, un día dedicado a enaltecer la relación de hermandad, me agrada, en lo personal, tengo unos 8 hermanos y hermanas, de cuatro matrimonios que han tenido mi padre y mi madre, yo soy parte del primer grupo de hijos, y mis más cercanos son un #hermano y una #hermana, mi relación con el resto de los hermanos, de los demás matrimonios, no es tan cercana, de hecho eso es algo que no parece muy bueno cuando lo consideras en conjunto.
Mi relación con mi hermano y hermana cercana, es bastante afín, crecimos juntos la mayor parte de nuestras vidas y nos hemos mantenido en contacto en la adultez, hasta el presente. Es algo que me gusta, no entiendo mucho la idea de que los #hermanos y #hermanas deban tratarse mal o competir despiadadamente entre sí, supongo que tuvimos suerte de ser criados con la idea de que colaboráramos entre nosotros y procuráramos cuidarnos entre nosotros.
La #hermandad es un vínculo por sangre, pero es mucho mejor cuando la crianza refuerza el lazo y ayuda a que se desarrolle también una buena amistad, eso es algo que yo aprecio mucho. En fin, creo que he dicho lo que quería comunicar, así que mejor cierro la publicación, deseándote que tú estés bien y que nos podamos leer de nuevo en otra oportunidad.
