Hello beautiful people. Continued from our previous class which is part 2
- BE READY TO MAKE SACRIFICES TO FOLLOW
Mastering the art of following is not a lazy man's work. To follow diligently, you must be ready to make sacrifices to learn. Sometimes the cost of following is your hard earned money. Sometimes, it is your scarce time. Sometimes, it is your big ego. Sometimes, the payment for following successfully is dying to self. Anyone who wants to follow but can not take rebuke, chastisement, or correction (even open rebuke) is someone who is not ready to follow. The art of following is not always convenient. It crushes your pride and ego, but that's exactly why you are following.
NO BETTER PLACE IS THE EGO CRUSHED THAN THE QUARRY OF SUBMISSION AND SERVICE
For the disciples of Jesus, it was even death that was their reward. They left family, houses, businesses, and ambitions to follow Jesus! Luke 18: v28. Then Peter said, "Lo, we have left all, and followed thee."
Many people fail to reach their full potentials on time because they despised people they were supposed to be following due to pride and ego.
- BE READY TO BE A STUDENT WHILE FOLLOWING.
Never think or show you are better than your teacher or leader, even if you are.
You must perpetually assume the position of a student to benefit from that following.
Always be ready to learn from any situation, whether good or bad.
I was teaching somewhere, and someone asked, "Sir, what can someone possibly learn from a bad leader?"
I answered..."A bad leader teaches you how not to be a bad leader"
Learn from every situation. Be a student of life and your leader. NEVER WASTE YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.
Always tell yourself, "I want to learn. I want to become a better person, so I will forget about what has happened and learn."
Avoid ever seeing your leader as your paddy always. There are times for that, but never forget that you are following, except you want to stop following.
As I close keeps these
If you learn and master the art of following:
YOU WILL BE MADE.
Everyone who followed Jesus was made, except for Judas. That was the promise. Follow me, and I will "MAKE YOU." If you follow well, you will be made.YOU WILL BECOME A BETTER PERSON
The more you stay around someone you are learning from, the more you become like that person, or a better person.
A time came that the disciples all looked like Jesus. When they came to arrest him, Judas had to kiss Jesus to show the difference.
When someone says they follow me and we live in the same town and I never get to see them, I dey tired...
