Well friends, as I promised you yesterday, today I bring you a new story. In this case I want to dedicate it to letter 96 Sarah. This story unlike the previous ones I have done will be more focused on a world with some fantasy and less reality. I have been wanting to use this new theme for days and today I decided to do it. In the past in a town far away there lived a woman named Sarah. In her lifetime she did many interesting and epic things, leaving many lessons for the new generations. Everyone knew her for her great sense of duty and for the empathy she felt for every person who needed help. But let's start this story from the beginning of her life. You see, she dedicated her whole life to playing the flute. For her playing this instrument was not simply a hobby or an inherited talent that she had exploited. The truth is that for her it was more of a necessity, as she always felt a very strong connection with the sound of this instrument.

Since she was a child, with the help of her parents who were flute players, she was also able to learn to play it prodigiously and above all thanks to it she was able to connect with the world and with herself in a certain way. The thing is that in her town she was one of the most outstanding young people playing the instrument. And the word spread quickly. Everyone said that she had a talent and a way of playing that others didn't have, it was as if she gave life to the sound. The thing is, these comments reached the ears of the village elders. This was a group of men and women who were the leaders of the town.

At that time Sarah was very lucky because just in a week was going to celebrate the festival of musicians. Why do I say she was very lucky? Well, because that festival was only held every 100 years. So it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. As I was telling you before, the positive comments reached the ears of the village elders. So they called a meeting to choose the best flute player in town to represent the town at the special festival. It was a great honor for someone to be nominated because it was a sign of talent and because it was an unparalleled opportunity.

Who do you think they chose? Well, yes, her, Sarah. She couldn't believe it herself. Especially because representing the town was a very important task. Besides, the musicians of previous editions of the festival had left the town in good places in the festival. So for her this was more pressure. Especially because she didn't want to leave them in a bad place. The truth is that this was the opportunity of a lifetime, but she also knew that the trip would not be easy. She also knew that the festival was not only a competition but also a test of perseverance and even character.

To get to the kingdom where the festival was to be held was difficult. For the journey to the kingdom is a challenge, it is a long and arduous road that would take her through unknown terrain and she had never visited before. In this world there are no cars, so as you can imagine she has to go in a cart pulled by her horse pancho. Sarah packed the essentials for the trip and was not intimidated. She packed her flute, some food, a few changes of clothes and a blanket for the cold nights. The next day she said goodbye to her family and started the big trip.

The truth is that the first 2 days of the trip were quiet. The road was familiar and there were no problems with bandits or wild animals that inhabited the forest. As he advanced, the landscape was slowly transforming, first from the green meadows that surrounded his house everything was transforming into rocky hills and dense forests. As she was walking through one of these forests, she encountered her first obstacle. A sudden storm forced her to seek shelter under some fallen trees, as she didn't want her horse to slip on the road and break one of its legs. While they were sheltering, she heard screams in the distance. Following them, he found a group of travelers trapped behind a landslide. They were exhausted and disoriented, not knowing how to continue.

The truth is Sarah hesitated for a moment, as she was aware of the time she would lose if she stopped to help them, but in the end she could not ignore their needs. She spent several hours helping them dig out their belongings, showing them a safe path and sharing some of their food before continuing on their way. A little later she and pancho were caught in the night. As she camped by a stream, she thought of the people she had helped. The delay was obvious, but she felt a lot of satisfaction that she had done the right thing. Let's remember that she's been like that since she was a little girl.

Well, the next day he continued on his way, but from then on his days became more complicated. The roads were no longer clear as before, now she had to go through thick forests, in which you could get lost very easily if you went off the road. She doubted on several occasions if she was on the right path. But nothing, her faithful horse pancho already knew the way and they were able to continue without getting lost. Later that day they arrived at a small mountain village, she crossed paths with other musicians who were also traveling to the festival. Some were friendly and shared stories and advice with her but others looked at her with disdain and envy, some doubting that a simple flute player from a remote village had any chance in the big competition and others that she would be a tough rival. The truth is that Sarah listened in silence, and said nothing to those, for she did not want to look for trouble. But she felt bad that some would belittle her talent.

Further on he had to stop at an inn to have a drink and give Pancho some water to drink, as outside the inn there was an animal care service. While he was having a sharp drink she entered the inn. Inside, a young guitarist named Tadeo who was ambitious challenged her to an impromptu musical duel. His goal was to make a fool of her, he was one of those who had spoken ill of her in the previous town. The inn was full, and the travelers formed a circle around them. But Sarah accepted, not out of pride, but to show him that she was not what he said, a simple woman from a remote countryside. In the end, as expected there was a clear winner, Sarah. But she did not mock him for losing, but rather told him very nicely that she did not deserve the prize, he did. She did this so that he would see her great kindness. He was very sorry and thanked her, but said, “No, you are the one who won it honestly. I wish you the best of luck at the festival. At the end they shook hands and she went on her way.

The next and last day the road took her to a small fishing village on the shore of a lake. There she met an elderly luthier, a man who had dedicated his life to instrument making and who had suffered an accident that had destroyed his workshop. His name was Rodolfo. The accident was due to a fire. Sarah passed by his door as he was struggling to repair a broken window, and she couldn't resist leaving him like that and stopped to help him. She spent all day in town, helping him restore his workshop, and listening to his stories about how each instrument had its own history. She learned more than she imagined, not about technique, but about the value of patience and humility, for Rodolfo was very experienced.

By the time she left town, she was behind schedule, so pancho was going as fast as she could. When she finally saw the towers of the kingdom in the distance she felt exhausted, her feet sore and her body bruised from the journey. The truth is that she had lost count of the days, but she had arrived. The festival gates were already open when she arrived. In itself, the festival itself was a shower of talent, of extraordinary musicians who had a lot of skill. Sarah did her best and won the first prize, but her performance. The people and the jury liked it very much. In the end, she returned to her village with the trophy, and with her flute that now bore the symbol of her community, and the beautiful stories of those she had met along the way.
