It's about an album I listened to recently, even though it's been out for a few months now, but it still left me quite impressed. I found it somewhere in my pending list. I won't tell you more for now, but it's interesting.

Well my friends, as I was anticipating in the introduction, today I come to you with something that you may have already seen, since the release of the album happened a few months ago. So it is normal that some of you have already seen it. But surely there are many more like me who still did not know about this release until just a few days ago and well for them this post is dedicated to them. And of course, in case you already know about it, take a look at it too, who knows and you might find out something you didn't know.

The release I'm referring to is Brat, the album is by the singer Charli XCX, a very famous singer by the way. did it ring a bell? Well if not, then let me tell you more. To begin with, in my case I got to know about the album some time ago as I was telling you in the intro. I knew about it mainly through the comments on the networks, mainly on TikTok. And well, it caught my attention how well it was talked about and that's why I wrote it down in my pending list and I listened to it.

I don't know if you are fans of hyperpop, but this album gave me a nice surprise to what one normally expects from the genre. Although I already knew beforehand that Charli always goes a little off script. This time I think she went further, as I could tell she added something more personal, I don't know how to explain it correctly but I would say that you connect better with her. I say all this because the lyrics are like those conversations you have with your best partner, when they are telling stories and they get a little sentimental. I would say something like that, because in itself seeks to express friendship. A message that I think is very good.

The album has enough songs that I think most people will be pleased, because there is a little bit of everything and for everyone. In total there are 15. I think they are all very good and the truth is that I don't think it lacks anything. And I think a testament to that is the reviews that the major sites have given it. I was looking and Pitchfork gave the album an 8.6. That tells you something, because, to give you an idea, they gave it more marks than Taylor Swift's last album, “The Tortured Poets Department”, which got a 6.6. So, if Taylor, who is Taylor, got a 6 and a bit, imagine how well done this one is. Of course, I don't like to compare too much, each artist has their own flow, and I think each one has some good stuff.

I was struck by the people Charli got together with to put this project together. We are talking about heavy names like George Daniel, EasyFun, Hudson Mohawke and Gesaffelstein. With that combo, it was to be expected that Brat would sound good, although sometimes there are surprises, but in this case in my opinion it didn't disappoint. The album has everything, and I think that's why more than one person will like it. Of the songs on the album I would like to highlight one, since it was the one that hit the most in the sense that it is the one that has gone viral the most, as far as I understand it. I am referring to “360”. If you haven't heard it, well, it's probably already come up in some video on TikTok or Twitter... or X.

In addition to the album itself Charli also released an extended version, which is still called “Brat”. It's an extended version because it has 3 more songs that the original album doesn't have. The songs are “Hello Goodbye”, “Guess” and “Spring Breakers”. And, I really think they improved a lot the original album. I think it was the point that was missing to close it. I give the album a score of 9/10.
