in Rising Star Game10 days ago

Good afternoon my dear friends. What a nice day, I hope you all are having a good time this Saturday. I hope you liked yesterday's post, if you haven't read it I recommend it. In that post I recommended a music album for you to listen to on a day like today when most of you are at home resting. Well in case you couldn't stand it and listened to them yesterday haha, don't worry because today I'm back with some new music news that you can also listen to since it's about the recommendation of an album released by a famous Dj.

But as usual around here that's not all, because I also bring you my usual and daily recommendation of the best cards of the day in our favorite game Rising Star. For the newcomers I remind you that these are the best cards because they are the ones that offer you the most for the least price, so if you buy them you will be getting the most out of your starbits. With that said we can get started.

Friends as I have told you on previous occasions I am a big fan of electronic music, in fact I have listened to the most famous works of all the best known artists of the moment. And in that bag falls today's singer, or DJ as you want to call her, the truth is that she is both haha. The singer I am referring to is the South Korean Peggy Gou. I have listened to a good part of her repertoire and I already tell you that I consider her to be one of the best DJs in her country. I say this with some basis because I follow other South Korean DJs and so far this is the one that attracts me the most with her music.

What I want to talk about is that she released a new album a few weeks ago, it's called “I Hear You”. I've already had the opportunity to listen to it a couple of times. And yes, I'll tell you that it's pretty good, although there's always something that can be taken out of it, but let's take it in parts, generally I like it.

One thing that caught my attention is that Peggy has wanted to take us back to the 90's with this album. Let's see, it's not like you put on your headphones and suddenly you're dressed like in an old music video haha or in the clothes of that time, but there is a very clear vibe to the house music of that era. Personally, it reminded me of those parties where, well, maybe we didn't dance as well as we thought we would. Ten tracks make up the album, and while I can't say they all hooked me from the start, they slowly reveal Peggy's goal of taking us back in time. It feels a bit nostalgic, but with a modern twist. Like mixing something old with the new... something like looking at old photos with Instagram filters, I don't know if I'm explaining myself haha.

There's also one thing even more interesting, well at least for me, and it's something that I'm sure you've already heard, although maybe without knowing it was from this album, it's the song “(It Goes Like) Nanana”. In case you don't know it was a very well known song from last summer, or at least for some, because let's see, “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi still resonates louder, don't you think? But hey, this song got everywhere, at least in my country it was heard a lot.

In the new album I was very surprised to see the names of some of the collaborators in this project. Villano Antillano, for example. And here I was surprised, because she brings that style of hers, which is not easy to overlook. The song is called “All That” and, although it sounds cliché, her collaboration gives a different spark to what Peggy was already doing. For me that song is as if it had given her a plus, something you wouldn't expect to find in a 90's house album, I say 90's because of what I explained before, you know it's from this 2024 haha, I emphasize it so you don't get confused.

But that collaboration is obviously not the only one as there are several others that I liked. For example there is Lenny Kravitz. At first I thought it was strange to see him here because he usually participates in other types of music, but it seems that he decided to change that a little bit, and I think it's great to vary a little bit. We have him on the song “I Believe in Love Again”, and as I was saying it's not what you would expect from a guy who has given us classic rock songs. Here he meets Peggy's electronic music, and while you'd think the result would be a weird clash, the truth is that it's not so much. What's more, I'd say it even fits well.

The album as a whole has in my opinion that mix between the personal and the worked over time. I say that because according to what the singer said on instagram she's been behind this project for over a decade, which is a lot of time if you think about it. It's almost like she's been perfecting it little by little until she finally decided it was time to get it out. You can feel that it's more than just a set of songs, because every detail feels well crafted. And yes, the quality shows.

So friends I think it would be a good option for you to listen to this new work, it would be great to cheer you up on Saturday. If this is the case and you have already listened to it, it would be nice if you leave me your opinions in the comments. With this we finish the news and we move on to the letters section.
