In my personal case I come from knowing him since his first album in the year 2022, Ivory was called and is still called haha. Going back to the new album, it has a total of 14 songs. Most of them, as I have noticed, have a central theme and from which they all start. I mean, they take you down the road of heartbreak, nostalgia, and those complications that arise when relationships aren't what they used to be. You know, that moment when you realize that everything is falling apart, but you're still there because you don't want to accept it. And well, if it hasn't happened to you lucky you haha, I'm sure you'll still connect with some of the songs because the guy knows how to convey. But well, before I go off the deep end (which I do quite a bit), I'll tell you that Omar was not alone in this project. Not at all.

For this album, Omar Apollo surrounded himself with some pretty well known names, at least to me and I'm sure to many of you who read me. There's Teo Halm, Carter Lang and Blake Slatkin. These three producers were even involved in the creation of the album, and I think that shows quite a bit because the album has a lot of quality, I would even dare to say it has more than the previous one. Maybe not everyone will say the same. But that's my opinion. Now I want to clarify something, God Said No has 14 songs, but not all of them are going to hit you in the same way. At least that didn't happen to me. It is a normal thing that I have already mentioned in several occasions, not all the songs of the same singer are going to please you in the same way. In the case of this album I really liked Spite and Plane Trees.

I found the title of the album more interesting, God Said No. I kept thinking about it for a while because, I don't know, it has something that leaves you reflecting, right? Omar said on his social networks that the title somehow shows that resignation when things don't go your way and you just have to accept what is. That hit me a little bit because I think we've all gone through moments like that where no matter how hard you try, you just can't do it. The truth is that music has that magic of making you feel understood, even if it's just for a little while.
